I looked up legal states for sugar gliders. I have it on my website but NJ says unknown. What does that mean?? Are gliders legal in NJ?

Sugar gliders ARE LEGAL in Georgia as of 2008. The only requirement is that it must be purchased from a USDA licensed breeder and you must provide proof that you purchased from a USDA licensed breeder.

As a resident of NJ I am saying they are legal but you must contact the department of wildlife and game and get a permit!

You also need to contact the induividual TOWN you are in as some towns/cities will NOT allow them.

Be advised that as an exotic animals they are regulated as WILDLIFE and once you get the permit READ IT. the permit clearly states that the animals in NOT to be brought out of the house unless CAGED and the public is not to allowed any contact to the animal

I am telling you this from experience and from making plenty of phone calls to the proper state officials.

I tried to post this once before but was questioned on it.
here is the number to NJ permit office 908-735-5450
