Tent time Fun ?

Tent time Fun ? - 01/28/15 11:43 PM

I wasn't sure if this would fit here or in H&A or GT&T.

How do you hang fun toys in the tents to use for playtime?

I never bothered about it before because at first I usually used the bathroom. Then when I was limited to tent time, I haven't really been in a situation where it was easy to set up, and didn't do so very often. Now, that I'm able to get them into a routine of out of cage play, I want to start making it more fun and interesting. The main floor toys I like to use for tent time are not accessible at this time other than the travel wheel.

Tomorrow, I plan on bringing in their travel wheel and the Noah's Arc (just placed in cage last week), but I'm hoping to be able to get setup for hanging fun toys quickly for future play times.

The tent is not as exciting as the bathroom playtime was, they can't climb as high and have less space to explore, so I'd like to make it as interesting as possible.

If anyone has some useful ways to setup for fast easy hanging fun, please post them. Ollie, Lulu, and Skadoosh will really appreciate it.

You could make a stand out of PVC pipe to hang stuff from.

I am going to move this to Housing & Accessories for more exposure.

Thank you, I actually have a play gym of sorts, but am in the process of organizing still and do not have place to keep it at the house just yet, so it's in storage. I did bring home some of the toys that hang from it and washed them. They're still drying. The play gym is actually a small reptile frame and should easily fits in the tent. I can't wait to try it out. I was hoping to rig an alternative, and have been researching. I don't have handy the types of clips I've read have been used for now either. Thanks again.

We use diaper pins to hang stuff with.

Thanks, I left the tent up after play time, so it can air out, lol. And also to see if I can maybe stitch some loops on the corners where the seams are, I've read where some have done that. I'm not sure if I want to do that though, but I'll checkout the possibility. I'm hoping to be able to get a new tent down the road, hopefully sometime this year, lol.

Anyway, here are a few pics from morning play with the floor toys, no one did much climbing. I'm hoping to have the play gym available within the next couple of weeks but we'll see how that goes, I haven't had much luck with my keeping to schedule, things just keep popping up or I get sick.

Lulu, she was the first one on the arc. Ollie didn't bother too much with the arc, not long enough to get photos of him anyway.

You know, just thinking about all the attention that arc got in the tent this morning, like it was something new, lol it's been in the cage for at least a week. It's kind of funny to me.

Alrighty then, I stitched two plastic rings into corners across depth wise and hooked using c-links a braided vine that they can climb on and also I can hang a toy or two. If they work out, I may add more around other locations to have more versatility.

I know the thread is not ideal, but play time in tent is greatly supervised. Even though i bring phone and tablet, I do get to use them much because I'm busy watching or playing with the little ones.

I will post updates after next playtime in the tent.

Clip on curtain rings also work well. You can put the clip on a seam of the tent and then use plastic links or strips of fleece to attach toys to the ring.

Thank you Candy, I saw that you mentioned that before. I will keep a lookout for them when I go shopping sometime. It won't be so soon and I wanted to try something for now. I am still going to pick up those clips and try them out one day.

Binder clips also work in a pinch. wink Clip it onto a seam and pull the silver parts down to put c-links into and hang from there.

Thank you, I'll keep both style clips in mind in future when shopping.
