Hello! And Toy question.

Hello! And Toy question. - 10/19/15 12:30 AM

So I have 2 beautiful sugar gliders that were given to me with all of their stuff from a family that no longer wanted them. They had them for about a year and I don't know how old they were before that. Sophie is the curious one and loves exploring. Sebastian is a big fat lazy but. He can be sweet, but is mostly grumpy and isn't interested unless food is involved.

I have been stalking forums and learning as much as I can.

I currently feed them dry food (sunseed vita prima glider diet), a wet food mixture (the pet glider diet from The Pet Glider youtube channel), and either peas, fruit, or applesauce on rotation. I have lots of treats to hide in random parts of their cage as well.

I just upgraded from something like a Large Wrought Iron 4 Levels Ferret Chinchilla Sugar Glider cage to a Large Sturdy cage from Suncoast. I will post a picture after I finish furnishing it.

This is my loot from party city and dollar tree to make toys.

And this is what I have a question about. Do you think these mini monkeys in a barrel are too small or are they safe for my babies?

:welcome2:

Small monkeys are fine.

All that loot looks like a barrel of fun!

WOW, it sure does look like a barrel of fun :rofl2: , and you will find some of those will be favorites and some will be ignored. Gliders are just like toddlers when it comes to toys. Some prefer the box over the actual toy :owell:

As for the Barrel of Monkeys, if your gliders decide these are a favorite (and most do wink ), you will find yourself foraging for them all over the cage. Just goes with the territory.

I prefer the regular size monkeys over the smaller ones both for my sanity and for their safety in case you happen to have a chewer. It will take much longer for a glider to chew through one of the larger money arms/legs than it will the small ones before you notice it.

Okay, so I'm a worrier. I always cut the gun barrels off those army men before letting the gliders have them :roflmao2:
