Ok I have had JIbbet now for a year and 3 months. I got her when she was around 4-7 months oop. She is a tiny little girl...I'm not sure how much she weighs but she is usually about the same sizes as my 7-8 week oop joeys. Anyway she has a joey in pouch now But I am affraid that since she is so small she won't be able to keep the baby. I think that is one of the reasons why she has never had joeys in pouch. Is there anything that I can do to help this joey out. I give her an avacado weekly and she gets at least 4-5 mealworms nightly, but those have never helped her gain weight. Does any one have any suggestions? I'm so happy that she has actually has a joey in pouch....but so worried at the same time

Do you know how much exactly she weighs? Also how much her mate weigh? If her mate is too large for her than yes it could be a problem for her to carry his joey's with a small frame.

Also what diet are you feeding at the moment?

[:"blue"]Candice has asked some very important questions as well as making a very good observation about the mate.

I would also like to know whether or not you have taken her to the vet to have him/her check for internal parasites to see if this could be the reason for her low weight and small size. You would also be able to find out exactly what she weighs at the same time.

Please let us know what you find out as well as the answers to Candice's questions. [/]

I'm feeding the BML plan. I dont know what they weigh but I will go out and by a scale tomorrow. She was seen by my vet back in April and she didn't seem to concerned about her small size, but I will bring it up with my vet.

I personally think that a reason for her small ness is because she wasn't fed right to begin with. Cuz she eats a ton. Her stucture is just petite....but her man is much bigger than she is. I will find out tomorrow and let you know

I have a very tiny female named Peak. She is now 4 yrears oop. and weighs close to 80 grams. When she was a year old she weighed in at a whopping 65 grams.

Peak is paired with a large male. His name is Taz and he is around 100 grams +. Together they usually have very tiny babies. When first oop. babies only weigh about 7-8 grams each. They are sooo tiny and usually not furred. Even though these little ones are really wee ones...the parents do an excellent job by themselves raising thier babies.

So, as long as the female is in good physical health....being small does not mean she cannot be a good mother and raise healthy babies.

Ok I got a scale.....Jibbet weighs 60 grams but that includes a joey in pouch who is about 3-4 weeks along. Zucchi is 105 grams.

Thanks for letting me know that Judy, it is good to know that others that are small have had joeys succesfully.
