I have a maybe off topic question. At what point do "wild" animals become classified as domesticated? Dogs all come from wolves but are considered domesticated. My gliders are not wild several generations back. They were born in a house/cage and have lived in one their whole lives. How does that make them "wild" animals? I understand them being classified as exotic because they are not mainstreamed like dogs but they are no less domesticated in my opinion.

Judge not until you have walked in their shoes and lived their lives. What you see online is only part of the story.

nobody qoute me on this but i think wild animals are any animals that are native to that area. I'm really supposed to be up on all of the USDA/exotics terms but i could be wrong about this.

Hey I am a Pa resident and have asked breeders if i could purchase a glider and have been turned down for my location and i really want one and i want find out more about these laws. I've researched a lot!!! and i just like everyone am confused about this whole situation. I have been researching for 2 months and actually delayed my search for breeders in Pa cuz i felt like it was hopeless but now its haunting me cuz i really want one and i feel i am ready to own one but b4 i purchase all that is needed i need to find someone that would sell to me..:( willing to drive to NJ for them but thats the only other place since i used to live there and i am not good with directions lol.. I REFUSE TO GIVE UP! If some one could help me i appreciate it!

The study has been posted finally for any here who may be interested: http://jsg.legis.state.pa.us/Exotic%20Wildlife.HTML

There's a link on there to a PDF file with the study results and conclusions. Not sure what to make of it ... only have had time to skim thru, it's mighty long.

I think it will be a long time before any changes actually take place though.

I think the PA law is silly. I would I rather have someone buy from a breeder then a NJ pet store they don't ask you where you live! and i would rather brake the law then have glider mills get money! Some laws are made to be broken! And when a government do's not know if it coming or going will then I think that gliders shouldn't have to pay for it
