Sweet corn, beans, peas and other legumes etc contain the same trypsin inhibitors and have a higher protein content so hence my original query as it peaked my interest.

Also include capsicums as well as sweet corn, peas, broccoli, beans etc all of which are fed regularly raw to gliders and all with trypsin inhibitors.

Then there is a most interesting fact about wattles or acacias. These trees will be found anywhere there are wild sugars as they feed extensively on them. Most Acacias have trypsin inhibitors and the sugar gliders are definitely dining on these trees raw!

diet research is ongoing at Healesville Sanctuary and if sweet potato or even corn for that matter were in the slightest bit dangerous, then there is no way they would be feeding these.

The bottom line though I guess is if people feel happier feeding their sweet potato cooked, then that should be okay. The same consideration should be given to those who prefer to feed it raw.

Oh and apologies to Tan for taking this thread a little off track!

i make them meatballs with ground turkey or chicken, and with the water thats left over i give veggies a quick boil in there and they seem to like em that way, sometimes we throw some fruits in too to give it a little more flavor,

when my gliders ate sweet potatoes raw, they had the runs.
when cooked they didn't eat them as well. they get them only monce in awhile.
lima beans & such type of beans, along w/broccoli & cabbage can give them upset tummies, i was told, but it will especially cause them gas.
i don't know if that was already covered, so i thought i'de add my 2cents worth in.
