Like anyone cares about mine but--- I draw a lot and when i way younger i was always in a tat shop or such and everyone always called me dizzy,so that's how i sign my art also Blue is my soon-to-be last name <3

Mine is Trigger because my hubby started to research our first glider and quickly handed the boards and research over to me.
He has been nicknamed(self named) Trigger for years and I was actually Ltrigger(ladytrigger) It stuck with me and I became just Trigger without the L

My grandmother who i am very close to calls me sunshine and i also have a glider named sunshine.

My apache grandmother named me Dancing Water. Dancing is just easier.

Mine is sort of obvious too. My gliders are Calamity Jane and Annie Oakley so I just stuck them together.

Mine is two-fold. Years ago, I met my husband online. I was bored and sent a message to a random person saying "Hello from Minnesota" (where I was from at the time). He responded, "Hello from DC". At the same time, I worked for a radio station. I came up with a marketing campaign for my mom's staffing agency called Muffin Monday. I won't go into the details of it, but it was a HUGE hit - very, very successful!

Since that first conversation with Brian, I've called him DC. Because of the successful campaign, he began calling me Muffin.

Mine is kinda silly. My last name is Day, so I decided to play off the word Today with TwoDay because there are two of us and 87 is a fav number.

Mine is one of my nicknames, it's the one I use on the internet from back in my archery days, after shooting a FITA round barefoot in the briers it stuck. My buddies shortened it from SouthernGirl to SG so I go by ~SG~ on a lot of forums but I couldn't use that one here so I put the full SouthernGirl.

I'm a HUGE Disney fanatic!! The "freak" part comes from the many tattoos(portrait of Walt Disney included) I have and the rather large nose ring.

Mine came about when 11 years ago I was in a car accident.I broke my neck and was in a halo for 9 months. So I got referred to as an angel in disguised. So I took my first name and angel .

I wanted to be more orignal b/c I don't "fit" any of the Little Miss personalities. So I'm me, not the sunshine or the chatterbox, just me.

I sign in as huskyjackal but use Sabarika as display.. huskyjackal is the mix of Siberian husky x jackal I made up for a character to draw over the last decade or so and Sabarika is the name I call that character. I began using it as an alias near 2000, but had an AOL chat roleplay character of an Arabian horse that was named "Sheikh Ibn Sabarika" (LOL I'm a big dork) and found THAT from combining "Sheikh Ibn" and "Sabarika" names off ads for horses at stud in a 1999 issue of Arabian Horse World magazine.

Wow, yeah, it's pretty geeky... haha, but after 4 or so years of using Sabarika as an online and art alias I started using it as my primary name when I met new people. Now I almost always introduce myself as Sabarika or Sabby and hope that I can afford a legal name change so I change my middle name to Sabarika. I just feel more like a "Sabarika" than I do a "Jinn" - my real name.
*Funny thing, both my real first name and my "alias" first name are Arabic, something I didn't realize when I picked my alias! If you look up "djinn" in a dictionary it's the Arabic spelling for my first name.

Just had to clarify for anyone who doesn't know you!

My screen name evolved from when I was younger. It started with my love for horses and how I am a "good girl" WildAngel But when i had that as a screen name (at 14 years old) I was approached a LOT by people who took the "wild" as a totally different definition...
I changed my name for a while, but I still loved the previous name.

So when I started to rehabilitate wildlife, I changed it to wildlifeangel for being an "angel" to the animals that I raised.

My real name is Heather and I have been called Feather since before I was born, according to my Mom! I helped her with her name, gliderma because she is "Ma" to many. We were surprised it was available, actually.

An exboyfriend years ago nicknamed me the happy hawaiian he said because I was always happy and was born in Hawaii and it just stuck. The number has no real significance other than that was the year I got an email with hpyhwn and it's just been easier to continue using the same number ever since.

Hill is my last name and my home is my haven. And I just put them together.

When I got gliders I added sugar gliders to hillhaven and got Hill Haven Sugar Gliders. As my goal is to be a haven as best I can to all gliders who come my way and my name reminds me of that goal daily.

BTY I love this thread also. In life we don't usually get to choose our name (first) unless we change our birth name but we do get to choose our screen names. So I think it's neat to find out why people choose to be called what they are. Thanks for starting it.

My name is pretty clear Dani being the name I perfer to go by and 4Hedgies is both a play on me being a hedgie breeder and to honor the 4 hedgies that started my kennel. Now my Kennel name has undergone some extreme name changes cause when I first started breeding animals 10 years ago I breed an assortment of exotic animals so my kennel name was Lots Of Love Exotic Small Animal Kennel however that was one heck of a mouthful and when I went to just breeding hedgies I changed it to Lots of Love Hedgies or L.O.L. Hedgies.

Just as a coincidence, all the horses I have now are pintos of some variation (not purebred, but pinto marked). So it seemed to fit that I pick something with Pinto... Then Lady, well actually I hate that part... makes me feel old, but couldn't think of anything else. Horses have always been there for me in my life, even when I didn't have any, so I felt it should be something with them. and 09 just b/c I wasn't creative enough to use my birth year or graduation year... (83 and 02)... I try to use PintoLady09 for all my forums and e-mail.

The day I got my first glider, Jasper, my friend started calling him (and eventually all sugar gliders) sugarlope(s). She would literally walk around and say sugarlope over and over when she was handling him.
When I needed a screen name, after a lot of thinking, it just seemed like the obvious choice.

Mine is memorial to the best dog ever! My chow/samoyed. Her name was Kryssi and her nickname was Kryssidog. Beautiful, black, long hair. Soulful brown eyes and that samoyed smile. Her hair and body was like the Samoyed but she was black like her chow mom.

She was suppose to be my child. I figured she would be long gone before I had kids. (the mind of 20 year old can only see so far) She was about a year old when I had Krystina. That dog raised that little girl. I would drag my daughter out from under the bed every night and put her back in bed only to find under there again in the morning with her arm around the dog. She was a gift from God sent to me to help raise my baby. She was with us for 14 years. I think of her everyday.

Ooh. I love this thread. Unfortunately mine is kinda boring, just my first and middle name. But I always secretly loved it when my mom got mad and called me by my first and middle. Both of my names have A LOT of meaning behind them [crazy adoption story] and make me feel very loved and wanted.

Minka was the first female glider that I purchased to be a companion for MoJo (formerly named just Mo by my son who started my glider obsession); she got HER name because I'm a fan of Genesis' earlier songs (I lost interest after the "Abacab" album came out). One of the lyrics in the song refers to "Minka pretty" and I decided from the second I laid eyes on her that it was a fitting name for her. It's going to be a rough name to say some day......may it be a LONG time before that day comes, amen!

I am not that creative so my name simply is the last four letters of my first name spelled backwards! Sharon = Nora Terribly boring...I know! Wish I was could have come up with something better!

My original screenname was jass1990. It is the initial of each of us in my family, John (husband, Aaron (son), Shaun (son) and Shelly (me), and 1990 was when my family all started.

Then when I began breeding sugar gliders, I called it my glider nursery. I was signed up on other forums as glidernursery then requested the name change here at GC so I was the same name everywhere.

I like it, now it makes more sense!

When we acquired our first pair of gliders ( ...many moons ago! ), they were the nastiest, crabbiest little critters EVER! My name means Lion in isiZulu, (the Zulu are the largest (population wise) tribe in South Africa) a nick name given to me after working with a Zulu man for years. He first called me Sibanza (the wild cat) but after I got married he changed it to Bhubezi. Also when I started to date my wife she told me that I should be careful of the guy they call Bhubezi as apperently he tells things like it is and doesn't back off easily, (me blushing now), only when we got engaged did I let her in on the little secret to the true identity of who Bhubezi was. LOL. No one else ever told her that she was dating the bad boy!

It all started long ago, in the old NY days, when hanging out with your friends at the local bar was the thing to do.
Didn't matter it wasn't MY neighborhood, they were still MY friends!

One day a friend, Artie, went to Jamaica. When he came back, everyone started calling him "ArtieMon", using a Jamaican accent.
Eventually, everyone got "mon" stuck to the end of their name.

Somehow, when it was my turn, they called me "YappaMon" because SOME people thought I talked a lot!
My first name is Sari. (pronounced Larry, Barry, Sari)
So, I'd walk in the bar, and instead of everyone yelling "Hi Norm!" you'd hear "it's Sari YappaMon!!" (Yup, everyone knew the Yappamon!)

I kept a lot of the same friends throughout the years, and the name just stuck... somewhere along the line the "mon" fell off, and I became "SariYappa".

I use this alias on all the forums, and yes, I still talk a lot!
