My wife pointed out to me that Freya keeps her tail curled up all the time when awake. I never paid it much attention but she does keep it curled up ( like a pig tail) most of the time. She does look odd like this ( but I always figured she was trying to protect it from my big hands some. or worried I fall on it ( she realizing I am a walking danger lol) I was wondering if this can be a n indicator of a possible problem or just she not using it to balance herself cause she does not need too.
We both been told she much larger looking than the one at the store. I only know that they were about the same in weight, store's and my girl . IS there a chance that there different locality were some gliders are bigger and heavier than others. ( I know there a issue like this for ball pythons, the area were the larger ones come from are heavier and lay larger clutches of eggs when compared to ball pythons outside of that area. )

It is possible that she is a tail carrier. A lot of gliders curl their tail.
Give her some plastic bracelets to play with, I bet you will soon find them in the sleeping pouch in the mornings.

You know those little plastic bracelets that you would give a young child? Those work wonderfully and you can usually find packs of them at the Dollar Store. I have a couple babies who are tail carriers, but one in particular who holds his tail just like you have stated above... all the time.
I think each Glider is different, my little one also curls his tail up above his body the majority of the time and after having done this for years, the others started copying him... I think it's cute and I don't believe it's any indication of a health problem.
