A little back story-
Audrey lost her fur and after weeks of taking special care of her I found her cold on the floor of my 5ft tall cage I took her and her mom to the vet and she was put on Antibiotics and I put het in a small cage by my bed and I carry her in my shirt during the day.
She is feeling much better now, she is weak but doing better. She was rejected but, her mom will get in my shirt when she is in there and snuggle her and makes her happy. So today I got all my gliders out and put her on the curtains and the dad played with her and she chased him she was so happy. Should I do more of these play times till I can get her a friend?

How old is she? I'd just be concerned that dad would try to mate with her if he's not neutered.

She is six weeks old

What was mom placed on antibiotics for?
It doesnt sound to me like she was rejected as mom still wants to snuggle with her and care for her.

Since she is only 6 weeks of age you can actually put her back in the cage with mom and dad for a few weeks. She should be eating on her own and mom and dad will be able to still teach her a few things, not to mention, this will give you time to find a cage mate for her unless you have plans on neutering dad.

Do not leave her in the cage for any longer than 12 weeks, and that is pushing it. (y)

Both Audrey and her mom were placed on a broad spectrum antibiotic as a precautionary measure since her mom has another joey in the pouch and I don't want to do this again if it is avoidable. I am keeping dad intact but her little brother might be getting neutered and kept as her companion. The vet said supervised play only for now but I have been encouraging play and snuggle time because she gets so happy when she is with her snuggie family it really is kind of heart breaking to have them separate. On a happy note I have a huge cage ordered for her and her new companion when they get old enough I keep her company during the day she goes to work with me and as soon as I get home from work I grab her mom to snuggle with.

one more note her fur is brown it has fallen out and come back the same color I wonder if that will change

I don't understand why they can't be put together. By allowing playtime, if there was any type of contagion everyone has been exposed anyway. I think its better for her to be left with the parents since they obviously haven't rejected or tried to hurt her. Taking her away can make her more unhappy.

She was not contagious I think he was more concerned that the family might hurt her because she was very weak and still is a bit on the weak side she was having seziors and was not drinking on her own her family wouldn't have much to do with her until a couple days ago. Maybe cause she was sick? I will ask him at her follow up

That makes more sense then, and I'd have to agree with his advice from that time. It does sound like they could be left together now, but a consult with your vet wouldn't be a bad idea.

Audrey's brother is the only one that would play with her last night I am desperate for her to be happy but I don't want to push things after all still is weak. She didn't eat her apples last night so this morning was hard because her blood sugar got low and she had a siezor Mango juice is her favorite so I gave her some now she is doing a bit better. vet was called.She should be fine

Maybe just try her brother for a bit. I wonder if the whole family may just be too much for her to handle.

Maybe I just want her to be okay. She has become my little bra buddie

Audrey passed away tonight. There was simply no more anyone could do for her so I held her as she took her last breath and then I loved on her till she grew stiff. I failed her

You didn't fail her. You did everything you could do for her, and that is everything except failure.

I am very sorry for your loss. You did everything in your power to save her. God wanted her more.
