Hello everyone, I have something thats is causing me some concern. I have a female that i thought was pregnant (vet told me she was) and come to find out she had a bad kidney infection. Now what I have noticed is that she has a "smells like car keys" kind of smell coming from her pouch. the vet says thats the scent she makes when she's cleaning her pouch but i dont buy that.. does anyone have any advice on this?

I wish I had an answer for you. Maybe someone will come along with experience with that. You might want to look for a new vet though.

There should be no smells from a female, especially from her pouch area. I would recommend having the vet lightly sedate her and do a very deep pouch swap and culture (they cannot get in the pouch deep enough if the glider is not sedated) to make certain the glider does not have a pouch infection.

I might also seek out a more knowledgeable vet... Your vet doesn't sound too experienced. Or get them in contact with one of the vets in the vet consultation list.
