Hey all!
Just a quick announcement. Aria, Arrow, Justin and Frisby are all back in the same cage. One big slightly dis-functional family.
No more bottles or incubators for now.
It's so fun to watch them riding around on mom.
So it looks like the worst is behind us--and we now have a colony of 4! :-)

I still have to police mom and dad. I don't let them take the joeys out of the cage if I help help it. They keep forgetting them and leaving them places. :-(

This morning I just had to rescue Aria from the Overhead Storage Glider Getaway. Mom or Dad had carted her up there and left her...
Gah...it's not morning at all is it? :-(

Is the overhead storage the glider equivalent of leaving her on the doorstep of an orphanage? Come'on Mama & Papa, step it up.

The overhead storage is full of junk I threw up there hastily in the scurry to move out of the rental house.
They vanish up there frequently, and are always working on a nest of some kind. I call it the Treehouse.
Periodically, I go up and see what they have going. This time it's a cardboard box full of grocery bags.
I'm good with that...as long as they are safe and not destroying anything.
If I can't get them back into the cage at the end of the night, I know they will eventually end up there--so I leave it up for them.
No...they just take em up there and forget them.
From what I have seen, if the *joey* doesn't latch on they just get left. :-(

I know I must be causing this somehow. It can't be natural behavior, or the species would have gone extinct millions of years ago.
I'm not providing something, or I am disrupting something in their natural pattern. Not sure.
