I've ran across substitutions for some of the greens and a few other ingredients used in the Critterlove salads, but I'm wondering if any type of apple can be used or does it have to be gala?

Also will any melon work? It says to use cantaloupe or tuscan melon but can that be substituted for honeydew or watermelon? Right now my gliders get both with the BML diet and they love them. So in switching to Critterlove, can they still get their fav melon in the salad mix? dunno

I use any type of apple, my gliders don't like the Gala apples, so I use red or green delicious or honey crisp.

You can use honey dew, but I am not sure about water melon. You can use watermelon as a treat.

Feather is correct, you can use honeydew melon as well.

As well as any apple. Gala are just the sweetest.

Ahh this is good information I was unaware of this, will be nice to have the option on getting other apples as I can't always find organic gala.

I know they don't have to be organic, but it is just something we prefer to do.
