I have been researching sugar gliders for the past few weeks and decided to get one, then I decided it would be better if I got a pair from the same breeder. My problem is finding a good breeder I live in Missouri and have contacted a few but most were dead ends and never returned emails or phone calls. Another breeder I found with Joey's are already pass the prime bonding time 8 to 12 weeks OOP but told me they find the best at around 18 weeks to bond with your Joey. I'm confused on where I should go to get these as I have also been in contact with Pocket Pets but trying to stay away from large scale breeders or Mills. I come here because I figured people actually care about sugar gliders here and have their best interest in mind. Any breeders here or anyone that can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated thank you

Hello fellow KCer! ;D Are you looking for Standards or are you interested in Special Colors? 'My Little Gremlin' is a breeder in our area that currently breeds BEWs & Light Colored Mosaics. I haven't talked to the owner recently in person/kept in close contact, but she was who I bought my very first Gliders from many years ago and is a lovely lady. I heard back from her recently and am currently waiting to hear from her again via E-mail, but I believe she has her phone # listed on the website. (It hasn't been updated in a while, but her contact info is still good!)

Ty! Is there any particular one I should look up? I assume these breeders all have the "experts" validation?

Many good breeders also ship, so don't be put off by their location. Here is another very good breeder not far from you - Anita Totty
Don't be put off by gliders past the 12 week age as someone has told you that is the prime bonding time This simply is not true. There are many older gliders needing new homes for several reasons who are real sweethearts. Their owners are just no longer able to keep them.
Whatever your preference, we will be glad to help if you find a breeder and have questions.

I'm starting to get leary. I've contacted at least 8 breeders with no response and not sure who or what info to trust so I get healthy, untroubled joeys.

Maybe because it is Sunday/the weekend
Send me a private message of who you have contacted, and maybe I can give you an idea of why you may not have heard from the ones you have contacted.
