Hi all,

Took my weekly trip to the dollar store for the glider cage and found some great balls and ringing bell things to hang from the cage. But has anyone used those $1 leis? Straws, polyester flowers and the string inside? I'm just wondering worried about dyes and they don't chew much but maybe breaking if they try to swing on them or something poisonous....? It seemed nice and work for a swing or climbing thing but I might also stick with fleece. Just want something new for them. Thoughts?

Thanks!!

Gliders love straws, you will find them destroyed all over the cage.

You can get the barrel of monkeys and hang them all over the cage, plastic bracelets are a hit here, my tail carriers will drag them back to their pouch and I take them out every morning and put them back in their toy box.

Do you know how to do the four strand braid, you can do that out of fleece and then stick the straws for them to play with.

Good Luck,

I got them some presents for Easter. A little clear plastic castle they can go in, some more cat balls with bells in them and this chain of plastic loops with a small bell at the end that you hang. They both loooooved the plastic loop thing with the bell. They were so fascinated with the bell. They kept grabbing it with their hands and were sticking their mouth in it at the bottom with the little thing that bangs inside the bell to make noise. Of course I got paranoid about this and inspected the bell. There was a loop inside the bell that was crimped together but separated in the middle that held the thing inside the bell. The two pieces crimped together inside were sharp and I was afraid they'd cut their mouth on it or somehow make the little metal thing to ring the bell come off and they'd eat it. It was small enough to fit in their mouth. In it's place I hung a plastic ball with a plastic bell in it to the hoops at the end. I may try to find a safer bell because they reaalllly loved it. All these little things u have to pay attention to! They're like little babies! lol

I honestly don't know about the 4 braid but I have a ton of fleece remnants I got cheap so I'll try out with some straws stuck in! I also found a fun ball in a ball with a bell that I think they will love. I do need to find a barrel of moneys for sure! Maybe I'll grab a lei and ditch the string, throw some into their ball pit (which I reset daily because they throw them EVERYWHERE). It's so fun finding things but being so small I worry about them exploring properly. And not being fully bonded I hope they have enough to do when I can't spend time with them.
