It's a little late, but I finally got the Spring/Summer cover on the cage. This is the first arrangement under Spring cover. All photos are labeled as view facing (left/right).

After cleaning and Spring/Summer cover on.

Upper left side. Placed travel size wheel on cage mount, sleeping pouch hangs in front corner, a hanging toy, wood perch and plastic leaf vine. Midway shelf holds nectar feeding station.

Upper right side. High shelf has upper f/v feeding station and water silo. Below shelf is braided fleece rope ladder with forage cups attached, a braided hanging vine, hanging toy, and a wood landing platform at front of cage and sm. fleece corner hammock in back corner. You can also see the wood landing platform attached to upper door.

Lower left side. Floor toys includes tree house with fleece blankies tucked in for rest/sleep option, lying branch-with floor level f/v feeding station underneath, and hanging toys from midway shelf.

Lower right side. Contains boat play bin, hanging toy, and floor stand with lrg. wheel.

These are pics of whole upper level and lower level with doors shut. Upper level will show furnishings outside the cage, these are for "out of cage play".

Feeding dish and silo were not in the cage when photos were taken, neither were the gliders.

I love it!!!

One the fleece ladder, how did you put the rungs in? After braiding the sides? They look stiff. Did you braid around something? Or just extra tight braids?

Thank you!

Dawn, it's just a tight braid. I also try to stretch it out as taught as possible when attaching to cage, this helps too. But they do get a little saggy.

To make the ladder I just braided several fleece vines/ropes. Two long ones and the three shorter ones, but I graduated them, so it's the top one is shorter and they get a bit longer at bottom. I cannot remember why I did this, I'm sure I had thoughts at that time, but it's been so long, lol.

I tucked the shorter vines/ropes through holes in the longer one, laying them out to keep them uniform as possible. I took fleece strips and threaded through all connections and tied to secure. C-links were then hooked through the end knots.

sounds simple enough... I might have to give it a try... I just tossed a pee soaked wood ladder away and would like to have a replacement... I need to do a lot of glider spring cleaning... they grew right out of some of their stuff too!!

Thank you for the instructions! I owe you!

Dawn, you are welcome and no worries. I am just now starting to collect wood accessories, mostly like ones with bark. I rinse and then soak them in v/w solution then air dry and they hold up fairly well, plus I alternate pieces, which also helps, I also spritz them with v/w solution occasionally (I keep a mixture in a spray bottle I use daily for drop pan and spot clean up as needed). I'm hoping to add even more, thinking if they they use for launch and landing it may help with their nails, lol.

My gliders all seem to prefer braided fleece vines over the fringy ones. Does anyone else's gliders have preferences?

Mine don't care to climb on the fringy vines. But when it's cool in the house I drop them in their sleeping pouch. They love to snuggle under them.

Mine prefer braided rope vines too.

Ty Dawn, that's a cool idea. I have a plastic mesh box I made them. I put one of those fringy vines in there once, not sure how much they liked it, but your tip game me some new ideas. grin

I still need to make a plastic mesh box! I have attempted to make a fleece cube, and I don't like the way they turn out. I'm concerned about the seams inside.

I think I will try a 1/2" mesh and weave fleece strips through it to make it dark and soft with blankies inside.

I would love to see what you come up with.

Dawn,
I'll do my best. My laptop is going in for repair sometime this week. The charge port is broken frown. I'm not sure how long it will take to get it back.

I think I'll have to wait till my pc is up and running, sorry. I'm not even sure I have it on PB. I'll check, if not I'll take a pick and send it to my PB for future.

It's on my PB, but I can't get it on here without my pic. I may have it on an older thread, I'll look.

Worth a try, I used to know how to do this, lol. This is a post of the pic of my cube.

Sorry, I don't remember how to make a link, but it's in this thread if you want to look at it.

I didn't weave fleece through too much of it, I'm guessing my gliders don't like it much because it's too open. I tried loading lots of fleece inside though, but I don't think they used it much. Fleece gets heavy when wet, and drying would take so much longer with the more fleece weaved through.

I did find the link, I went a different way there, it's on page 21 of 34 pages you have posted in. Having the date was most helpful.

You are probably right about the fleece taking longer to dry when woven through the mesh. Hum...I will post something when I figure this out. I do like the cabana you made, after seeing it, I remembered it.

Love all that wood in your latest pics.
