I'm about to move cross country and anticipate about 6 days on the road. I've never travelled with my fluffball for longer than a few hours so I've usually been able to keep her BML frozen foods in a cooler. However, 6 days in hotels that won't have a freezer will make it impossible to maintain her diet while traveling. What recommendations can you give for something temporary that does not need refrigeration? Fresh fruit will be easy and some veggies will be possible too. But how can I make sure she's getting enough vitamins? I've seen the dry pellet food and I'm skeptical, but maybe it's not a bad choice for 6 days? Can anyone recommend a good one?

I use this in fruit flavor: http://www.pet-pro.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2Mine love it and I use it as a snack and as their food when I have to leave them for a few days alone. I met the creator at OSGA this year. Without going into detail, his product is highly recommended. If you choose this route, be sure to have extra water available to them. I use a small dish of water. They seem to drink and wash their face in it.

What recommendations can you give for something temporary that does not need refrigeration? I have the PERFECT travel food for you. No refrigeration needed. Only water. Its the Critter Love® Complete along with a bag of our Freeze-dried salads that were developed to go along with our staple products to assure you that you are feeding a wholesome, balance, nutritious meal without the fuss and the worry of finding vegetables and fruits!! You can find our travel pack here , And the GREAT thing is, its not only for travel but for every day of the year!! If you dont need the bowl and water bottle, you can also find it in my store together without them. Add water to the Complete, shake and serve. Add water to the salads, rehydrate for few minutes and serve!! THAT SIMPLE!!

I used CLC when I traveled across country for my gliders. It's perfect! I just bought a 4 or 6 pk (I forget how they're sold now) of Sunny D. Since I like that juice, I drank it and then washed the small bottles out. Then I added the amount of water I'd need to make up a night's worth of dinner for my gliders, took a permanent marker and drew a line at the water level on the outside of bottle. Then I emptied the water out, but you can carry them filled with water if you prefer, I just rather travel with dry bottles and add fresh water daily. At time of feeding, I'd fill the little bottle to the water line (from bottled water), and then add the measured amount of CLC, place the lid on good and shake, shake, shake. It was perfect!
Unfortunately, the CL dry salads weren't available then, or I would have purchased them.
As a side, the pellets that Dawn mentioned are very good, mine love the fruit flavored as well.
I traveled from MD to AZ and then back again. I stopped a total or 4 nights each way, mostly because of the animals on the return trip, the trip out was for other reasons.

A 28g pack of salads will last one glider for one week. A 4oz bag of Complete will last one glider for one month. I have both for my two for easy meals between destinations, and for when I must be away from them for 24 hours or more. I use Pet pro kibble (also available from Peggy) for snacks and to hold them over till we stop. I also use Critter Love complete and suggested salads Every day. Sorry Peggy, I must have answered when I was still half asleep...

Yes, please share your thoughts after using it.
I have spent a lot of $ on different portable/ travel cages. Now I have a travel size glide-arium, and a pop up dog kennel for destinations when we don't take the 5th wheel..

Holy cow the thing is huge!!! I didn't expect it would be so big when it's popped open but it's fantastic! Soba wasn't particularly excited though. She was pretty timid about exploring it.
One thing though is I think they forgot two of the elastic bands to hang the plastic grate from. I'll need to buy some and add them myself, which is inconvenient when I'm trying to focus on packing my entire apartment and storage rooms.
I'm pleased with how easy it is to put together though. A little wary about how it might be difficult to clean. We shall see!
