Hi! I recently retired and then bought a sweet little 14 week old male glider, Gizmo, 5 weeks ago. So far he has survived my inexperienced parenting attempts. As a new owner, I have lots of questions and concerns. There is a lot of conflicting info on the internet - so trying to use common sense while weeding through it all.

In the bonding and relations section, I just posted some of my questions and concerns on traveling while in the early bonding period and what to do about a mate since he is not neutered. Please feel free to share your wisdom and experience with me. Thanks!

I'm so glad you found us. I was also confused by the conflicting information. It's hard to tell which is accurate at first, but if you look deep enough into it, you'll see what "sits right" with you. My experience is to go with that, if something doesn't sound like it's good for your little guy, don't follow it.

There are many opinions on many topics regarding glider care, so stick with what you feel is "safety first" approach.

I'm not saying in many cases that anyone is wrong, much of the time it's not always one right way or better way when considering various opinions, they're just that, an opinion. This carries over to diets, treats, pellets, cage sizes, time spend for bonding, introduction protocols and probably some I'm missing. But when it comes to safety, like: cage bar spacing, particular toys or type toys & accessories that are labeled as
"safe" or "unsafe", please be sure to consider following carefully.

Thanks Terry! That's kind of the conclusion I have been formulating - that I just have to use common sense and do what I think is best for GIzmo. I like the safety first approach and I will follow it. Thanks again!
