Hello! We have two gliders Wilbur and Orville, about 1 1/2 year old, and are both neutered males. Recently they have been fighting and crabbing--a lot. They were totally fine for a few months (got them in April), but now they seem to be trying to mate with each other. We've been separating them at night and trying to do play time together (which goes fine), but if we put them back together for a day or two together, they start up again.

We really want to be able to put them together again. And every time we do things go fine for a couple of days, but then they start fighting again. Not sure what to do? What's wrong? We're not sure if Wilbur is trying to mount Orville or not. Would he do this being neutered?

What you are seeing is them establishing who is going to be the boss in the cage.

Some things that may help would be:

Multiple feeding stations, one per glider and one extra. Don't give them more food, just split their food between 3 dishes.

Have two sleeping pouches in the cage, in case they want to sleep alone.

I hope this help, please keep us posted.
