I noticed that my suggie has a swelling on her hind thigh and she has a bold spot on top of it. This is probably an abscess. Does anyone have experience with this type of problem? How do they treat them? I have a an appointment but it's a week from now. SHould I give her a course of amoxicillin treatment?
Thanks

Is there any way to get her in sooner? How long has this been there? My biggest concern is infection, but I can't advise on administration of antibiotics, only the vet can. If it is an abcess, that tells me infection. Are there any scratches?
