I have decided everything and am ready to get my sugar gliders in January. All I need is a cage. In Indonesia there is 0 appropriate cages for gliders. I’m on vacation now in my home country and came to our bird market. I found this cage, all the measurements are good except the width. Is it still ok to get.

It is a good size for 2 gliders. Be careful with how you treat it and wash it down with mild soap. I would also use diluted vinegar at 1 part to 4parts water. It doesn't look as if it has a powder coat finish. Watch for rust where the door hinges, and the doors slide. That's where the rust will start. Rust can cause UTI(urinary tract infection).

If once you find rust, that area will have to be sanded and painted with something lead free and pet safe.(food grade or appliance paint it best) paint. I'm not sure what's available there or how they word the above things.

You will want to make sure all doors are lockable, if not use zipties. Check for escape routes too. Check for movable or bent cage bars too. Take a ruler and measure all of it. Check for anything that may be gapped more than 1/2".

Ok. Thanks I will go back their either later today or tomorrow to get one. And could I use the wood perches or the food and water bowls that come with the cage? I have already found the things I’m going to order for the cage but I just wanted to know.

I used their dishes just fine.

If they come with ladders, you won't need them. Shelves are fine. Perches will over time smell due to potty/poo, but you can use them till then if you want.

Thanks for your help. I might use the perches for something else when I get the cage.

KarenE you could use google or apps to convert centimeters into inches.
