Hey everyone, I’m new to the forum and looking for gliders. I live in North Platte and can’t seem to find any breeders around here. Not even our pet store carries gliders anymore which is honestly probably a good thing, they didn’t seem to take very good care of them when they did have them. So anyway, could anyone point me in the right direction to find gliders near me? I am currently building an enclosure and will be stocking it with toys soon! Hoping to find a pair and I don’t mind driving a little bit I don’t really want to go 200+ miles (which is all I can find). Hope to hear from you guys/gals soon!

Would you consider rescues?

I did but there is nothing for Nebraska so I’m assuming the ones that are here aren’t registered? Not sure how that works with gliders to be honest but I know for a fact that Nebraska does have breeders because I’ve talked to several of them.

Also I would definitely consider rescues! I find it hard to turn down an opportunity to help an animal in need.

Well no luck on sugar glider guardians, nothing in my area and shipping is so expensive. Looks like I might be waiting to save up some money for shipping since I can’t drive far enough

You can watch on local Craigslist. BUT there are a LOT of scams on pets... Don't pay for one through Western Union. And pay cash in person, not PayPal...

I wouldn't pay for a live animal from Craigslist anyway without seeing their condition first...

In the meantime, check in your area for an exotic vet that has glider experience. If you find one, they may be able to put you in touch with other glider owners in the area.

Ok thanks for the help, craigslist in my area is nothing but spam no matter what you look at. It’s terrible. And as far as I know there aren’t any exotic vets here either, the closest is a two hour drive away but maybe they could help, never know til you try. Thanks again, really appreciate the help!

I just found a woman near grand island yesterday who is overwhelmed with gliders at the moment that she saved so she is selling very cheap to downsize but you can go ahead and send me the info just in case it doesn’t work out.

I will PM you when I get her info.

She has over 40 gliders right now due to this and is trying very hard to find homes for most of them so if you know anyone else in Nebraska that is looking then I can get you her info. I have been in contact with her through Facebook

I've been looking for a sugar glider pal for my female near me also but not much luck. I live in NWMO and am wanting to get one that will hopefully be able to teach my girl how to play more like with a wheel, toys etc and help her to learn how to bond better, so I think one that has been raise with a breeder from young/birth would probably be best. Any info would help
