I always purchased from Grubco and never had a problem with their products.
I'm sure others may different choices for you. Wish I could think of some others, but I have finished my coffee yet

Grubco is a great resource. Also Rainbow mealworms. Be sure to stay away from places that raise their mealies on cornmeal. It causes alphatoxins in gliders.
I grow my own .

We get our mealworms from PetSmart (that's where we used to get our turtle's mealworms). Do they raise their mealworms with cornmeal? I'm going to check out Grubco, thanks!

PetSmart usually get their worms from the same source Nationwide. I do trust them for their source which I think is Timberline. But I check dates, take in consideration of the time of year too. I also open each can and do a quick shake and count how many look thin or dead. You can expect to see a few.
My backstory:
We travel at lot with work. We live in a 5th wheel 6-9 months out of the year. I would go local pet stores (Petco, PetSmart, and a few mom and pop stores ).
I inspect them before I'd purchase them to make sure they were in a wheatbran bed. Then I would dump them in a larger container and feed them carrots or apples for 24 hours, removed said food and put them in the fridge for a week. After that I would take them out and feed the same, empty the fras(poop forgot to add I do this when I bring home too) out and clean all dead ones out. Then I'd feed them to my gliders.
That way I made sure they were cleaned and free of alphatoxins. Giving them a week to purge made me feel better. I did this mainly when we were away from home and away from my usual source of mealworms.
We were in Jackson Mississippi for 7 months and finding mealworms that weren't half dead (if I could find any at all) was hard to do so that's when I decided to grow my own. They travel really well and don't take up too much room.
Sorry for the story, but I've walked away from more than 1 can of mealies when I felt they weren't up to par...

Does anyone buy mealworms from The Pet Glider? I was going to buy a few little toys and saw the mealworms. It makes sense to be able to add those to our order but wanted opinions. If nobody has, I could just ask them what they feed them. According to this post thread, cornmeal is bad, so I want to make sure they don't use that.

I've never bought them from her, but I would trust her to have mealies that were raised on the right type of bedding. She would be feeding them to her gliders too.

its always good to get them as close as possible to you. Glad they got there fast! It's probably still fairly warm there too that helps!
