I’m freaking out right now. I was doing tent time with my new pair of gliders, and my phone was about to die so I put the cord through the tent, but I zipped around it. I also had my door shut, but no towel was blocking underneath it. I just rested my eyes for 10 minutes, and he was gone. I ripped apart my room, but he is not anywhere to be found. I have a strong feeling he got out of the tent and went under my door. There is not a big opening under my door, but I know they can get out because Mable did it to me a couple months ago. I have two cats and two dogs, and I know if he is out and about my house he is a goner. I looked upstairs, but I can’t find him. I’m hoping that maybe he is hiding somewhere in my room that I’m not noticing, but I highly doubt it. I shut my lights off in hopes of him coming out, but I can’t help but feel he got out under my door. I don’t know what to do, because even if I leave a couple pouches around the house, there is an almost guarantee that my dogs or cats will get him. My dogs killed my first glider Celine a couple years ago, when she got out of my room. I’m trying to listen for any commotion, but so far it’s complete silence. I’m just at a loss right now because it’s been over an hour. I’m really hoping he will show up alive, but I almost feel like if he is not in my room there is a high possibility my cats or dogs will get him. What should I do?

Are you still here?
Lock up the other animals start by sitting quietly with the lights turned off and listen close all toilets and anything that has water. Assume the glider us still in the room at this point. Get their smelly pouch and treats on the ready too.
Tell me what you have done.
I will be monitoring here every 10 minutes for awhile.

Check your closet. Top middle and bottom, blankets, coat pockets, hoodies hanging anywhere. Under the bed.

Well he did end up being in my room; I just found him ten minutes ago. I left the lights off for over an hour, and he came out from wherever he was and went on Marci and Mable’s cage. I’ feel sooo relieved that he was still in my room. I have no idea where he was hiding, but I guess wherever he was, was somewhere I couldn’t find. I mean I looked in the blinds, under my mattress, under my bed, under the cages, all through my clothes, bags, boxes, and he was nowhere. I looked on the ledges of the windows and doors too, but he wasn’t there. I even looked on my fan, but no Cletus. I guess they do have an uncanny ability to just hide in the most smallest/hidden places. I’m wondering if he was hiding in the pockets of my clothes or inside a shirt- but at this point I don’t know.
Thank you for your help as always. I feel so relieved that he did stay in my room. My heart dropped when I saw he got out and was nowhere to be found. I just felt certain that I looked everywhere, but I guess not. That’s the last time I stick a wire through the tent at tent time. It was shut by both sides of the zipper, but I did end up making an opening without noticing (from moving) .

Whew!!! Awesome!!!
I'm glad you found him!!!!
Yay!!! Normally they stay in the room where their cage is. They are scent oriented and stay close to familiar smells. Next time put a towel under your door just in case.
They also like shoes to hide in too BTW...

You're very welcome!
In retrospect, we have all been there.
You had a better chance at finding him at night over discovering him missing in the morning. At night, he will still be wide awake and running around with a cat nap here or there. During the day, they settle down and find a place to sleep. And may sleep the day away and you'd have to wait till they normally wake up. There are ways to rouse them, but it doesn't always work.
You may want to keep a noisy plastic bag handy. Something that when you crumble it up makes a noisy racket. They don't like the noise and will wake up and crab at it. It scares them.
Also don't throw out any trash, do laundry, or leave doors/windows open.
They love things that smell familiar or are soft and cozy. They love the dark which makes it doubly hard to look for them. It's best to turn lights off and listen.
I love a story with a happy ending!!! And, I learned something too! Keep a bread ties to lock myself in the tent... I've never had one escape, but there is always the first time...
