There is a virus going around my family. It’s a stomach flu type thing that has high fevers and whatnot that affects mainly children under 7. My question is, how susceptible are sugar gliders to human viruses? Should I avoid contact with my gliders until the virus is gone? Or will they be fine if I keep interacting with them? I’m not sick at the moment, but I’ve been in contact with the people who have been.

You should be okay not transmitting anything to your gliders, however, most people just do the basics when they are ill not only to be safe but because they do not feel well themselves.

It is rare that humans transfer diseases to their gliders and vise versa.

When in doubt, you can always double check with your vet agree
