Hi wave
Is the Borneo Cage (Version II) from Exotic Nutrition any good?

Does anyone have problems with it at all?
And how many gliders can/should it hold? How many gilders would be best for the size?

For those who don't know
Its 62" high, 46" wide, 23" deep, with 38 ft of cubic space with ½” bar spacing with Wire Gauges 2.5mm (horizontal) & 4.0mm (vertical)

Removable locking wired floor grates and catch trays, four locking side access doors,
and two full-length front doors with stainless steel locks.

I would get it with the Shelf & Ladder Set, Shelves measure 45" wide x 12" deep with openings 9" x 5"
Ladders measure 21" long x 5" wide

Sorry about slow response.

Borneo cages are safe. However the shelves they offer aren't necessary and the ladders can be dangerous. People who buy these cages usually fill them with toys , bridges, corner hammocks so the gliders can jump, around and possibly short glide from these things. A glider approved safe wheel or 3 also provide many activities and jumping around.

I strongly recommend these wheels and the running disc.

This is a very large cage and will accommodate a large colony.

I would not use all four shelves, and maybe only one or two ladders.

I would use 2-3 shelves and swap the number of shelves every so often.
I have a DIY kitchen that can't be hung, so it needs a solid surface, so I have to use at least one shelf.

I also made the mistake of buying poof pouches, rather than ones in which they can see me coming from when I adopt them, tounge
So I have to hang the poof pouches so that they rest on a solid surface, so that the opening of the pouch is facing the front of the cage
so that when I first get then I don't scare them when they suddenly see a huge new scary face peering down at them without much a visual warning.
(That's just for the first month or so till they warm up to me)

I believe they would have plenty of space to glide since the shelves are not the full depth of the cage.
I would have them also mainly positioned closer to the lower half of the cage, with more gliding availability towards the top.
Is that still ok?

I've heard they need some platforms, as climbing the side bars all the time cannot be so great in the long run, and also just a place they can stand/sit or whatever they do grin crazy
Correct me if I'm wrong with any of this :hit:
(also no need to apologise for the late reply I understand heart)
