First of all the should NEVER be fed nuts. They should also be fed fresh or frozen fruits and veggies every night. There shouldn't be a lot of food left over in the morning

Read this page and it tells you everything that you must do. Follow it exactly!

With most ice cube trays, 1 cube is about 2 tablespoons. Since you only mentioned one glider, I would start cutting those cubes in half. Just remember, 1 tablespoon each of the BML, veggies, and fruit, per night, per glider. If he eats it all, increase a little the next night. I don't give too many treats, you can actually use the BML as a licky treat. Also, I give the bugs in the morning, so they aren't filling up on those at night. The BML they get a bit before they get their fruits and veggies (about an hour and a half earlier). This has worked for me so far, so I hope this helps.
Editted to add- sorry, I was talking about BML, but you mentioned that you just feed the fruit smoothie, veggie relish and bugs. I really suggest you get a proven diet, as with only the things you are feeding, your glider is not getting all the nutrients he needs.

On that page it tells you to feed 1 tablespoon, some cubes (icetrays) are bigger than a tablespoon. If the tray you're using is bigger than 1 tablespoon it could be that you're feeding peanut the same ammount you'd normally give 2 gliders (I personally used to just make it in a big tupperware bowl and just scoop out a spoon)
all of the exact measurements are on that sheet and for the most part you dont want to change them. you can always change what type of fruits and veggies but you should stick with the 1 tablespoon of each

Also, keep in mind that when you blend the fruits and veggies into slushies - you are feeding a lot more than pieces of fruits/veggies.

I personally would stop blending the fruits/veggies and measure out exactly how many pieces of fruits/veggies you are giving.

Like mentioned above - measure your ice cube trays. You may be feeding for 2+ gliders without even knowing it.

Good luck

That is correct, in that the slushies are more than 1 TBSP fruits/veggies. I'm not sure how to tell how much would equal 1 TBSP, short of taking one TB. of each and blending them, and seeing how much it ends up. The observation with the BML was correct, also, one cube does not necessarily equal one tablespoon. The rule of thumb is to see how much they eat and adjust acoordingly until there is only a little left over each morning. If the plate (dish) is consistently cleaned off, more is needed so they aren't going hungry.

To answer the title of your post, tho-yes many of us do chronically overfeed our babies, or worry they will starve themselves to death if we don't give them just what they want (they won't. They won't be happy, and will pout like a small child, sometimes for a few days, but they won't starve themselves to death). And who doesn't love watching the excitement and hearing those little joyous chirps when you give a yogurt drop, mealie, or other favorite treat? While a bit of extra padding can be a good thing, and the males should be 'chesty' so to speak, and can provide some extra when they become ill so you have time to work with, too much excess weight will shorten their life expectancy-and I'll be the first to admit most of mine could stand to lose a few grams! Like most, tho-I'm guilty of the 'treat effect'-and I can think of nothing better in life than those little chirps some days!

My observations from blending the fruits or veggies is that I end up with about half the orginal amount that I put in the blender. So probably half a tablespoon each of the blended fruits and veggies should be enough. If Peanut eats all of it and you feel she needs more, you can always increase the serving a little bit - that is if all the BML is being eaten.
