Our Molly crossed over the bridge at 6:15 this evening. She was a wife and Mother of wonderful gliders.

I must write this now before the total shock sets in our I will not be able to do this.

Last night she was out with the other 4 in her cage eating and playing and giving kisses and all the wonderful things gliders do. Today she has been in her pouch with her family all day. I check on them at 3:30 and all was fine. When I went in at at about 5:15 she was on the bottom of the cage and had crawled under one of their blankets but just her head. She was cool to touch and I picked her up and she was week but alive. She was weak but still gave me kisses and nipples but very weak ones. As I have seen this before with the other gliders that have died of Aflatoxin I knew there was nothing we could do. I won't go into all that we did do righ now.

She slipped away from us quitely and peacfully and with me holding her.

She will be missed so much and her sister didn't want to leave her so I let her stay as long as she wanted. I have put Molly back where I found her so the family could say goodbye. It took awhile as they didn't want to leave. As soon as they did I took her out.

I have 5 more gliders that have been exposed to that vile fungus from the crickets from 6 years ago. Molly was 6. So I dread everytime I walk into the room as to want I will find.

Goodbye Molly we loved you very much and thank you for sharing your life with us. It was great and we will care for you family with all the love we have.

I am truly sorry to hear about your baby. Im sure you bought each other years of happiness. Im sure she is frolicking happily now on the other side of the rainbow bridge with her other suggie friends

I am so very sorry for your loss. I am sorry she passed but glad she was in her hands where she knew she was loved. You are a good Glider owner...don't ever doubt that.

Oh Ellen, I am so sorry! How wonderful that she waited to tell you goodbye with a gentle kiss. As a former nurse also, I saw this happen with patients, they just have to tell somene very special to them good bye. I know you will hold her in your heart and memories until you meet again one day. I take great comfort in knowing in my heart that all our beloved gliders are in a place of joy and peace, and are well and whole, at the bridge taking care of each other until that special day they spot us.
I am keeping you and your family, both gliders and humans in my thoughts and prayers.

Miss Ellen I'm so sorry for your loss. You and I have talked some about the aflatoxins and your fears about your gliders. Please know that Molly had a wonderful life with you and all these years BECAUSE of your wonderful love and care for all your gliders. She loved you and I'm glad she got the chance to say her good bye to you. I'm sure she wanted you to know she was going to be ok and that she knew her time was here.

Oh Ellen, I'm so very sorry! I know we talked about your experience with the aflatoxins after I lost Jeepers. You talked about that fear of what you'll find each time to enter the glider room. I know that feeling now.

Molly had a wonderful 6 years with you and you with her. You and Bruce did such a good job taking care of her and all the others. They will be waiting for you at the bridge. Until then, they will be playing and romping with Jeeps.

But Lucy, remember when Bruce was hand feeding Maggie? That is her sister. The odd think I thought Maggie would go first since she was a rejected Joey. Guess Bruce did a good job huh? Molly just looked so healthy. But boy did I love that last kiss from her.

Oh Ellen, I'm so very sorry to read of Molly's passing, but I know just like everyone else that she has had a full and happy life with you and Bruce caring for her. A little sweet glider couldn't ask for more. I'm so happy that she was with you as she passed and said good bye for now. They never really leave us, just go away for a while until we come to reunite with or angels at the bridge.

Ellen, I am so so sorry for your loss of Molly. It breaks my heart to hear these terriable losses. Please know that your in my heart and prayers. Oh, Ellen! My heart breaks reading of Molly’s passing. At least she died in the warmth of your hands and of your love, and was able to tell you in her own special way how much she loved and appreciated her time with you.

Ellen, I am so sorry to hear of your loss of Molly. I know you must have loved her very much and will miss her terribly. But I also know she will be waiting for you to meet her on the other side of the bridge. Even though it will be painful, think of her often and think of her long so as not to forget your memories of her. For one day, maybe a long time from now, the two of you will be together again with all of the others you have loved that are gone, and the reunion will be a sight to see!!! Ellen, I am so sorry you have had to go through this again. It is so hard even when we know our little ones are happily playing on the other side of the Bridge.

Miss E, I'm so very sorry for your loss. As others have said, Molly lived a great life with you and she's happily playing at the Rainbow Bridge now. I hope that with some time you'll be able to fondly remember her with a smile, rather than tears and pain. She's at peace. I read this post and im crying so hard its hard to type. First of all, I am soooo sorry for you. Bless ypur heart. Im glad you were with her when she passed and im so glad you got that last kiss from her. She obviously loved you and was glad to spend her last moments with someone she loved. Today is actually harder than yesterday. But the family seems to be doing well and that's what matters.

This really is not a good day at all. You would think by now I would be used to it. I wish God would blow up every cricket in the world. Sorry I guess pain brings anger and I feel so hurt and angry now. But your post have help alot.

Ellen, I am just getting around to reading this and I want to pass on my condolences on the passing of Molly! Mine love crickets, but I also raise my own.. Are my crickets safe, or should I avoid them all together?

I know I'm late with this...everytime I came to post something happened to get in the way, and I wanted something special for your little girl. I'm not sure which way is easier to lose a glider, when you know it's coming, or when you don't. Neither one has been easy with mine-they all hurt when they go, even tho I know they're in a better place. I went through 3 or 4 of my altered songs looking for one for you, and settled on this one. I've been looking for the song itself for years, and no luck. So while I can't share the tune (which is beautiful, and has run through my memory for nearly 30 years), I can share the words:

Becki, I wouldn't give a cricket if it floated down on a cloud. But that is me. You have to go with your hear and head. I give no bugs and wouldn't have a cricket in my house unless I could kill it. Since this started I have lost 28 gliers.

I am also very sorry. I never knew crickets were that horrible. Just hold your other gliders tight and you'll be alright.
