I'm so sorry she didn't make it! When you said you had made it to the vet I had high hopes, at least you know she's not suffering anymore. Please stick around, we're all here for support!

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crying.gif" alt="" />I am so sorry your little one didn't make it. Here is something to help ease the pain:

The Rainbow Bridge:

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Your little one is there now, waiting for you to join her someday. I know the pain you are in now, and so do many others here. Know that we are here for you as long as you need us. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hug2.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hug2.gif" alt="" />

Mike, I am so sorry for your loss. May you find peace and comfort knowing that one day you will see your lil one again. She has lots of good gliders up there to hang out with while she is waiting for you.

Hugs and prayers going out to you and your family. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hug2.gif" alt="" />

Thanks to the Rainbow Bridge poem I officially can not stop crying. You don't know how much I needed that poem. To Mike and all that have lost their angels save that poem. I am, on those days when I see his picture or I brag about him to friends and begin to sob, I do believe it is going to be the Rainbow Bridge that will help me. So thank you. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crying.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/needhug.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hug2.gif" alt="" />

Mike,

I know everyone else has already said it, but I'm very sorry for your loss. Time will not erase the pain, but remember the good times, not the end. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hug2.gif" alt="" />

Mike, you hang in there sugar. So many of us have lost our babies and it's a pain that never leaves. It only gets dull. So what you are going through now will at some point subside. I am sure she would want you to remember the good times and all the love you shared and would not want you to hurt.

You did all you could. These little ones sometimes give us NO warning they are sick. Just be thankful you were holding her when she crossed the bridge and she knew you were there with her.

Her little spirt is free now and no more pain for her.

I just wish we could all be there and have one HUGE GliderCENTRAL HUG for you.

Well last night it snowed and got very cold, i keep having these mixed{bad/guily} feelings about her being cold, wet, frozen, we did put her in her favorite fanny pack, and towel, when we buired her, i think i should have had her cremated, these lil gliders depend on us so much, i feel i mad a bad decesion, i almost thought about digging her back up, i keep going out there and looking hoping i see her, last night i went out and covered her grave so she would not get wet, and was so sad to move her cage {big one} unlike a dog {most} cat {most} these lil babies have an entire house, toys, and a hudge presence of life for such tiny angels, i am still so heart broken, mike here is a picture of her on the vegas strip she had such a fun time being with us 24/7. would i feel any better if i dug her up and had her cremated and in the warm house with me?

Mike, this is a personal decision. All of my babies have been cremated and put in a pretty box with a sticky name tag on it. When one of us go they will go along with us.

But please try and understand that was OUR decision.

Somewhere in your heart and mind you need to understand the Rainbow Bridge. She's not there in the ground anymore. Her spirt is free.

This is just one persons (2) on what we have done.

*crying*
Ive been sitting here for over an hour now trying and trying to find the words to type.
I am so so sorry. I wish I could sit with you both and cry with you and share stories. I dont really know what to say. I wish I could say I knew what your feeling, but noone ever knows for sure what another feels exactly. But I can tell you my heart was broken Oct. 2nd of this year (little over a month ago). I lost someone very dear to me. My precious furry girl, "Mya", of four years. I cannot even begin to describe what she meant to me, and does mean to me. The time, the effort, the love, I put into her.
She meant (and does) mean the world to me.
When she passed, she passed in my hands... it felt like someone had stolen my breath. For days I couldnt even get out of bed hardly, cause I knew Mya wasnt there to go see first thing... I MISSED (miss) that. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I could sit here all day long and talk about her and describe what she meant.
When I buried her... it was NOT an easy thing to do.
I waited for days to bury her.
It was rainy out, and muddy and chilly, and just dark and gloomy... my girl didnt deserve that. I couldnt make myself bury her outside like that. I wanted her to be outside cause I felt like she was more free somehow that way. But I at least wanted a bright sunny beautiful day to remember.
I kept her stored in the freezer for days. Wrapped carefully in warm soft items that meant something to her. It took me forever to place her in there.
*crying*
I couldnt go near the freezer because I felt so guilty. Anytime anyone would open the freezer, Id scream to shut it fast. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
When the day came to bury her, I struggled with it all day. It took me awhile to be able to place her in the ground.
I cried for days thinking she was out there.
Ive just now come to the conclusion that Mya's not really out there... shes not really cold or wet, hungry, hurting, or lonely.
It was me who was hurting and lonely. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
Mya isnt out in that hole in the ground, she is in a far better place. Myas not dead... she lives in me. She lives in my head and my heart, and shell never go away, I have her always. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/heartpump.gif" alt="" /> I had to really think, (Kinda like that one saying)... I would of rather had the joy and love of having her, than to never have known/loved her at all. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/heartpump.gif" alt="" />
Im so glad she was mine and I had her love... noone can ever take that away from me.
I miss her beyond belief, and I dont guess that will ever go away. When you love something so dearly, I dont think the missing them and hurt is supposed to go away.
(It gets better over time, but its still there.)

Now when it rains, and its cold out now.... I just have to think, Myas not outside alone and cold or hurting, she lives in the warmth of my head and heart.
It always hurts, but it does get better and your able to remember the joys and good things.
Many good thoughts and hugs to you my friends...
Im so sorry your heart is hurting.

(sorry, I do talk alot.)
I dont know if youve seen these posts or not... but heres a couple explaining a little of my grief. You may not wanna read them or even feel like it...
Mya (my heart) is gone...
"Amy" ...and the priceless gift of love and family.
My heart goes out to you.
Saying a prayer that you be comforted.
Do what you both feel you need to, to grieve, and what you feel comfortable with. You lost a loved one, a family member. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/heartpump.gif" alt="" />
This is a great community here... please know we are here for you.
Please feel free to email me if you need to vent or talk or just want to share stories of your precious girl, or cry together. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hug2.gif" alt="" />

Im going to move this to the 'Real Stories' forum... so more can see it, and so she'll have a special place here to be remembered by all. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/heartpump.gif" alt="" />

Mike-
We lost our Daddy Glider, William, nicknamed Baby Boy not long ago. Because of an error on the part of the vet, who sent him for Rabies testing to the state (a disease he couldn't have had) I never got any of him back to bury at all. That was very difficult for me. I rewrote a song for him in Real Stories, post: Final Tribute to my rainbow babies. You had a BEAUTIFUL little girl- <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/muchlove.gif" alt="" />absolutely adorable in those pics, and you could tell she was loved. She knew it, too. It is of course your choice as to whether to disinter and cremate. But all that is in your yard is an empty shell now. Her spirit is in a place that is warm and cozy, happy, never knowing hunger, fear, pain, loneliness, or sickness. And she will wait for you there. The song I rewrote for mine was "Remember When", and one day you will remember your beautiful girl, and it will bring a smile instead of so much pain. She knew she was loved and wanted, and that you did all you could. Sometimes, there isn't much you CAN do, these little ones hide their illnesses so well. My Baby Boy died of an intestinal blockage/seepage, and showed no sign of illness until a couple of hours before he died. By the time I got him to the vet within the hour, he was dying and in agony. All I could do was sign the order to end his pain, and have them open him to find out why. No fault or blame lies with you. Every time you see a rainbow, remember your beautiful, special girl, and know she is happy, warm, and comfortable, and waiting for the someday when you meet her there. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hug2.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hug2.gif" alt="" />

Mike,

Please remember that your little girl is being comforted and taken care of by all of our lost babies at The Rainbow Bridge. I'm sorry for your loss.

Thank you for all the kindness, i really need it, yesterday i went to a store to get out, and a i walked by a fruit area, very hard, almost every isle i went down had a product that reminded me of her, i miss feeding her everynight, i think in a way you feel it is a real child "baby" as you have to care for them similar, feed, hold, clean up, very hands on care, then all of a sudden NO CARE, we now also feel guilty that maybe we should have taken her in sooner, and also having her outside, i have mixed feeling about digging her up now that she is at rest, i placed a flower there, and today i am going to put a nutt there, i miss her so much nothing can fill the void of the love and bond of a lovey glider.

Except, perhaps, another to love, hold, care for, cuddle, and spoil -when you're ready. A new baby can never replace the little love you lost, but are special in themselves and can go a long way to help heal the wounds and fill part of the void left behind. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/heartpump.gif" alt="" /> Healing prayers coming to you. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hug2.gif" alt="" />

Oh my gosh, this thread has tears rolling down my face. Mike, I think a lot of us can relate to your feelings about our babies being cold out there. There are a lot of us who have lost our sweet babies. I'm glad you are finding some comfort here. God bless you and your wife. I hope you find peace soon. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/heartpump.gif" alt="" />

Thank you so much Natalie, we will decide tonight if we are going to dig her up or not, & have her cremated, which i think will make us feel better, however she is still gone.. been a week now and still cry everyday, i open the fridge were is the big bowl of fruit? & leadbeaters, so many reminders, last night was hard as sunday was the night for her to be in her exercise ball, i kept going towards the area were her cage used to be, and around 4 each evening is when i used to take her from her cage and keep her until i went to bed everynight no matter what. i still feel her in my bathrobe pocket were she spent almost 6 years with me.

Oh Mike... many good thoughts and prayers of comfort to you both. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hug2.gif" alt="" />

Its been 6 weeks and two days since I lost my precious Mya. I still cry almost daily. There are too many memories and things around the house that remind me of her. After 4 years of carrying her all day long and playing every night, she left a hole in my heart. My was very very special. She was the reason I could smile every single day, she was the reason Ive been here for so long, and have met many wonderful people. Mya did many things in the Glider community... her imagesand stories are everywhere. I have no choice but to 'see' her daily and be reminded.
It breaks my heart... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
But, at the same time, I am glad and honored to remember such a precious being. My world was a better place for so so long, because of Mya.
My heart aches cause shes not here, but Im thankful for the time I had with her at the same time.
I will remember her always.

I know how you felt about going to the store... I couldnt either for awhile without having to cry and leave. It does get some better my friend. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hug2.gif" alt="" />

I dont want this to sound rude or offensive in any way...
I know there will never be another Spyro. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/heartpump.gif" alt="" /> Never.
But, you might, when your heart feels some better... possibly think about getting a new baby to bond with and love... give another precious Glider a chance at a wonderful life like you gave to Spyro.
Spyro was a one of a kind... noone could ever replace her. There may be another little one out there for you and your wife to love and care for.
When Mya passed, it devastated me. I wasnt sure if Id ever get another Glider... (I have two boys, but they are not like Mya was... Mya was truly unique...I refuse to remove her name tag from their cage.) I had bad thoughts, and questioned my ability as a glider parent. I felt like I could never love another glider like the way I loved Mya.

Just a little over a week ago, some special people surprised me with a wee little furry girl named "Amy"... I didnt know what to think! I just wasnt even sure about having another Glider like that again... to make a loooong story shorter... you would not believe what its done for my heart. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/heartpump.gif" alt="" /> I know she will never replace Mya. But I can tell you already, there will never be another Amy. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
I still cry all the time for Mya... and I miss her terribly.
This new little girl has helped ease my heartache quite abit. I love her so so much already.
You may or may not ever be ready for another Glider... you know whats best for you. (just something to think about in the future)

It must be so hard on you, the thought of "should I or should I not" have Spyro cremated.
That is totally up to you and your wife and what you feel comfortable with. Spyro is not in that hole in the ground... she is warm and happy and knows shes loved. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/heartpump.gif" alt="" />
If you think it will ease your pain to bring her inside and have her cremated... then do so. You lost a family member... you have the right to feel and grieve however you need to. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hug2.gif" alt="" />

Im so sorry. My heart hurts for you both.
Prayers that your hearts start mending and is filled with wonderful precious memories that make you smile. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hug2.gif" alt="" />

I very much agree. When the time is right you should consider letting another glider into your heart. I lost two precious souls last winter and both of them had cage mates. I did find new cage mates for my gliders left behind but was never able to bond with the new ones the way I was with Cider and Pickachu. I received Catcher in October and I finally find my heart healing. You can't ever replace one with another but you can give another glider a chance at a wonderful relationship. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/heartpump.gif" alt="" />
