I wish I would have seen this post before. When the joey is at the top of the pouch, it usually means that it's looking for food. Since neither the mother nor the father got him down, then you should probably start to supplement feed him at least 3-4 times a day. Mom may not be producing enough milk for him. I would have recognized the issue before losing my joey!

 Kathy I'm so sorry you lost the joey. I lost our joey that Grace held in stasis for over 8 mos. The baby came OOP night before last or yesterday morning while I was asleep. I found it already passed on the cage floor and flipped out. We can't be right there 24/7 watching. We don't always recognize any problems until the next one comes along. It hurts bad, I've learned so much the hard way and hand raised one joey but still never expected this to happen. We just can't think of every single thing, gliders are very complicated.

we just lost our first, it came out of pouch a week ago and died day 2- mama just didnt know what she was doing- I kep an eye on her but she left her for too long, I am so sad about it, and my male has been neutered for 2 months. Is it true they can hold them in stasis for months? what is the liklihood of there being another one in the works if she just had one come oop and lost it? I'm sorry you lost yours.
