What type of cage you decide on is totally up to you. There are some things to avoid though. Galvanized uncoated wire (some pvc coated wires are galvanized) can cause urinary tract infections. Cedar should NEVER be used. Pine is fine but must be properly coated with either polyurithane or shallac (follow the directions and use 5 coats). This seals the wood to prevent urine from soaking in and making it stink and also prevents the oils from the pine from making your glider ill.

Cages should be as big as you have room for and are able to easily maintain/clean. It is recommended that the smallest is 2 foot x 2 foot x 3 foot tall. Taller is better! However, few premade cages I have seen are those dimentions.
My cages are 30 inches wide, 20 inches deep and 55 inches tall. These provide lots of space for the gliders but also still fits in my bath tub to make cleaning easier.

I suggest a cage with a wire floor that seperates the gliders from the waste tray underneath. This way they don't have to walk in their own mess. However, there are many cages (like reptariums) that this just isn't possible. With these, I suggest a fleece "rug" for the bottom that can be changed out daily.

Also, wire spacing should be no more then 1/2 an inch so they can't escape.
