okay, i have this in another post, but i would like some answers tonight. so here is the deal...

i bought a toy at work that i thought would be tons of fun for my kids, and after i brought it home i realized it had cat nip. i washed it hoping to i guess deactivate the cat nip. when i got it wet i saw that there was actually very little cat nip inside it. when i washed it, i used this cleaner from work that is highly effective, and totally safe for animals (i work at petco). i soaked it in very hot water mixed with the chemical for about 30 min, then rinsed thuroughly.... my question is this, will it be safe for my kids?

I would not even risk it! I know someone who (unknowingly) put a catnip toy in her gliders cage & the next morning they were ALL dead. She didn't have necropsys done, but all her other cages were fine, so that was convincing enough for me to keep the stuff far far away from my babies! No toy is worth that risk - IMO!

I don't think I would use it. Sorry. Catnip can kill gliders. I would not put it in the cage with them even afer the cleaning.

Love and kindness is a gift. Use it freely....

i know it is toxic, and i washed it just because it was debating... but yea, i just dont know enough about cat nip to know for CERTAIN that it is totally benign. so i will return the toy... too bad they would have loved it.... oh well ill just have to find something else. i was just curious if anyone else had tried it successfully.
thanks all!!!
