I'm not sure if anyone else has found this tent, but my fiance just bought it for Gizzy today. It's called "Be Good To Bugs" lol. It stands over four feet high and is wide enough for both me and my fiance to get in with Gizzy with plenty of extra space (no crouching when sitting or anything, woo hoo). It's not one of those play houses with no floor and open flap windows. The whole thing, all the sides, are mesh screen that Gizzy RACES up and down. We attached his hanging rope from the top, and he jumps from the mesh walls to the hanging rope in the middle and climbs up and down. Like I said, I wasn't sure if anyone else had found this tent too, but I figured I'd put it on here because it's much easier to assemble than one of those junior camping tents. It's still a play tent, but it has a bottom to it and no window openings....perfect for playtime!! It was at Target for $14.98 and it has a green "leaf" roof and yellow sides with vines on them...adorable!! Let me know if you have anymore questions, but we tested it tonight with Gizzy and he LOVED it!

sounds really cool! Do you know the dimensions? I want to see if it would fit in the glider room.

Here's the info I have for you...
Dimensions:
65 1/2 inches long
65 1/2 incges wide
48 3/4 inches tall...very nice sized tent

Zack said he found it in the camping section at Target, it looks like a kids' version of a sunroom sorta.

The phone number for questions or comments listed on the thing it folds back into is 1-800-316-6151....hope this helps!...it's great cuz when you travel it breaks apart and fits into a carrying case the length of an umbrella (a bit thicker around tho)....

Good find!! I think I might run over to Target tonight & pick one up.

I'm assuming it stays a lot cooler in there since it's not totally enclosed like a normal tent. That would be great!!! I get sooooo hot in the tent so I avoid tent time- as soon as that zipper door is zipped all the way I bust a sweat

I love this! I am going to try target this weekend and get one! The kids tent I have is good but it gets so hot inside and my back kills me from crouching. I think it will be better for the gliders too since they can climb the mesh. Thanks for sharing this great find!

Target had another one like that in the mesh, zipped up the front, and had a floor... It was a castle all in pinks... It was so cool. I think it was $30 though. My husband rolled his eyes at me... That was a few months back, but i think i found that more in the kid/bedroom section. So look around, you might find some other neat ones.

Sarah (SugarBabees),
Yeah, it definitely does stay much cooler than a regular tent because of all the sides being that mesh screening....I think the picture doesn't do it justice since there are two kids sitting in it, it really is nice and roomy, my fiance is pretty tall and we sat across from eachother with no crouching and had PLENTY of room to spare....and Kayla (butlerfamilyzoo), this one is only $14.98 so maybe your husband will be more open to the possibility lol

Ooh oooh ooh! I can't wait until I get out of work tonight!! I'm going up to Target to pick up one of these tents

I was wondering though- you said that this is easier to set up than a regular tent... How so? Does it have all those poles connected with elastic- man people say it's easy to pop up those tents but I've knocked many things off my shelves assembling tents!

It has some poles but less than a regular tent, it's simpler in assembly....Zack said it took 5 minutes for him to get it up and running lol, so I'm assuming that's less than a full-fledged tent

AggieCutie, would you agree with that statement? I've watched people attempt the regular tent, and it's sometimes not a pleasant experience....I don't think it pops up in your face (I've had those and it almost took my head off it popped up so quick, Zack had to dive for cover lol)....Zack said it didn't pop when he was putting it together because it doesn't have that round wire in it already when you take it out of it's case.....no broken noses!!!! lol

Tents are one of those funny type things that are SO hard to put together at first and then they just kind of amazingly appear up and down when you gt the hang of it. I worked for an animal reserve and we were teaching kids how to camp correctly outside, and it takes 4 people to set up one of the tents. The first time, in training, took us almost 45 minutes. By the end of 2 months, we could do it with 2 people in less than 10 minutes.

OMG! How cute is that tent!!!
I have to have one!
This one makes my little measly pup tent look like we're camping in a prison yard! (Room!) LOL!
Jess don't feel bad about not being tent freindly I hold the same position, putting it together for me would be a disaster! Besides, that's where my teenage son comes in handy! (And he camps!)

Off to Target

I didn't have any luck, the number goes directly to a Minnesota Target that you can't even order or request info on the tent without a Target Product ID. WAAAHH! I want one!
What I did find out is that David Kirk supposedly provides that product and other product lines like clothing and books exclusiely to Target. Why couldn't he be Wal-Mart friendly??? The Bum.
I'm depressed.

I went and picked up two tonight!

I'm not so sure this tent is gonna work out for me

I like the tent itself- the mesh & dimensions but there's too many other things that I'm not sure about.

For those of you that already have this- have you found a way to glider proof it? I thought about sewing around the top but I wasn't sure how the bottom would work I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep this It's just sooo cute though!!

The number I called that Jess provided said they couldn't ship even if they had them, they could just tell me the nearest store, if I had the product ID. I also looked on the Target website, no such animal. Then I go to one Target, on my way home (cause I didn't want to believe the employee, as if she knew!) but I got the story that it was the wrong time of the year try again during the summer when there are bugs. HELLO, THIS SC, theres bugs here until January! If someone else finds a way to order it, please lte us all know!! I'm pleading with ya! I want one soooo bad. My only guess is that in Florida they have a warmer climate to sell more of these to kiddies wanting to hang out with buggies.
If some of you that are located north of me get to your Target and find one, I will CRY!

Well, for those of you that can't find one at target, I found one on Ebay. Here's the link:

Hope that helps. Sorry I couldn't find more.

Hey, I'll go to my Target tomorrow and see if they have them. Patsy, I think it would cost 10 or so to ship to you. Do you want me to get you one? You could paypal the money to me.

I just put more velcro around the bottom to make it stick together all the way around. I love it because I can hang tons of stuff from the top. The gliders love it because they can see out and can actually grab hold of somethign on the side to run up it.

It does only take about 4-5 minutes to put it together.

I had one of these but took it back because I didnt particularly like how the top connects to the bottom with the velcros =/ But like stated above its pluses include its roomy size and its ability to stay somewhat cool when inside.

No go for the tents being available in Florida. I go to Target all the time. In fact, I was just there tonight looking for a ten because I think my suggies might be ready for tent time, but I didn't see anything like that. I've been to a couple of other Targets in the surrounding area too and haven't seen anything llike this. I'll hit up some more though and see if I can find one, I'll get the Target product code for everyone.

Lol fellow Tampa Bay, I went to the one on N Dale Mabry. There was only one left when I got mine but like I said I returned it. Whether they restock that same one I don't know, it was a couple weeks ago tho so could even have been bought again. I know Target is lil weird on returns, they throw away a lot of them.

Hey everyone, I can take a look around my two area Targets in Melbourne, FL (I have two stores within about 20 minutes of my apartment). If anyone is DESPARATE for one, I could prolly pick it up (if they still have them) and ship it out to you. The only thing is I have no idea how to do Pay Pal so someone will either have to guide me thru that or we'll figure out some other way of payment....As for the velcro around the bottom, Gizzy hasn't managed to come even close to escaping which is nice, so nobody fret, the tent is very secure in my opinion.

SugarBabees,
What did you mean about glider proofing this tent? Why would you need to sew anything?

Because the bottom is only connected by velcro- so of course there are gaps all the way around. I think if I were to sew the bottom it wouldn't be possible to set up the tent... Not sure...

Also- gliders could potentially get out through the top but I'm not as worried about that one. It's mainly the bottom that's not glider proof at all.

I haven't received mine yet but I think I understand what you are saying. I have some Iron on velcro that may work for that, just to fill in the gaps, I'll let you know when I get a better looksie at the real thing so I can decide if it's practical.

I may end up adding velcro too... I still haven't decided if I'm returning it or not.

Aside from the escape factor I think it's a pretty nice tent! It took me longer than 4 or 5 minutes to set it up though, but it was also my first time. We'll see!

I'm curious to hear what everyone else thinks once they get theirs... sounds like a lot of people will be hitting up Target this weekend

Gizzy's been using it with me the past few nights and no attempt even of escape, I don't think he's even realized there's a few small openings if you make sure the bottom fabric is touching all the way around....I'm not sure what was meant by they could escape thru the top, I'm about to go in it now to play so I'll do a thorough check, but I hadn't seen anything like an opening at the top....have fun everyone!!!!!!!!!!....oh P.S. if you just kinda collapse it at the end of the night, almost so it looks like a tall pole, you dont have to worry about the disassembly and assembly part, Zack and I just put it in a closet at the end of every night and when it comes out the next night we just unfold it!

I got one off ebay since I don't have a Target close plus I figured they wouldn't have them if I drove there anyway. Can't wait to get it and try it out. I'll be in with my babies anyway so am not worried about them escaping from the bottom and if becomes a problem will use the double sided tape or velcro. I'm just excited this old fat girl don't have to get down to crawl into a junior pup tent anymore

Thanks, JasonG! I actually live in Largo, but work in Tampa and I'm in Tampa a lot. Haven't really been in Brandon, but through it. Man! I was driving through Brandon on my way home from picking up my two girls from Port St Lucie where I adopted them! If only I knew then. I might make it there anyway. I get pretty determined sometimes. Thanks for the info!

Okay folks,
I just came out of the tent. It did take a few more than 5 minutes to set up, however, once you have the initial set up done, you can unlink the top (t-pee) and collapse it and it makes it a really quick set up for the next tent time.

When I first started setting it up, I did see that the bottom, only where the poles are attached, are possible escape areas. I think vecro would be the way to go.

Tonight I just brought a few beach towels in with me and tucked them around the areas, and actually, they didn't even go near them. They were all climbing and flipping back and forth from my head to the rope I had placed in there.

I love it.

Great Tent!

Cycy, That's what I was thinking of doing too - tucking the towels in, but I agree, Gizzy didn't even go near them and he's been in it a bunch of times. I'm glad to hear the towel thnig worked tho, just in case, and we've been collapsing it too so there's really no set-up after that initial time.

Melinda Kay,
I will try to place a pic on when I set up tonight, but my PC isn't exactly behaving lately, getting it fixed this week, if not tonight, tomorrow AM.

Jess, did your suggies go nuts on the mesh part? Mine went bananas!!
Looking forward to more fun tonight!

Cy,
Gizzy hasn't accepted the fact that the mesh doesn't go quite all the way to the top, so his best idea is to actually skim the very top of the tent as he jumps back and forth, he just won't give up the dream lol....but yeah, he goes INSANE, he gets this crazy little look in his eye lol....

Jess I'm glad somebody sees the humor when the suggie montsers get to the top! Mine get all the way to the top and they look at me as if to say, why can't I go any further, why is this part so slippery? Help! Then they jump on my head and start back towards the Tee Pee center at the top again! It's halarious!

**My apologies, MelindaKay I will post a pic tonight for you to see....or try to.

Ebay has some if you search David Kirk's screen house. I FOUND ONE! Actually I found three! Two are left and they were actually at the Target closest to my house! I don't know how I missed them before! The one on Ebay starts at $10 and you can buy it now for $17, but it's on clearance at Target for $7.48!!!! The product number is 091 12 0232. There's also a number at the top right of the sticker that is 30. I don't know if that may be the department or something. Mine was still listed for $20.98, but rang up for $7.48. There's two left at largo mall if anyone is in the Tampa area and wants one. The corners do need to be secured more, but other than that, my suggies loved it!

Okay, Just to show you all at the bottom of the tent for those of you who were wondering, this is how I have been setting mine up (until this week-end when I can place the extra velcro on each side of the poles at the bottom, I have no time through the week). Should take twleve small pieces, (six poles). The velcro that I had, was too wide and wouldn't work. But the attachment shows a huge beach towel placed around the edge at the bottom that seems to be working for a temporary solution, and honestly, I've had all six of my gliders in every night this week and they haven't even become snoopy about it,....yet!

Here's Itchy at the tip top, looks like he's on a pirate ship checkin out the seas ahead, Ahoy Mate!

The top piece can be unassembled with great ease, and tent folded right up.

As for the bottom, I make sure that the towel is tucked in good around each pole up on the side a little so there is no opening the eye can see....like I said they really don't seem to be bothered by it.

I might take the time today and try the velcro strips.

I picked up the velcro (with industrial strength adhesive) and it worked like a charm, no escape holes!
I just cut the peices into strips and viola!

Just found this link for a single tent on e-bay for those who are still looking:

Thought I would share this with you all. I went to target to get the buggy tent but they didn't have it. I got this princess one that they had and attached it to a tarp with velcro which made it escape proof. I plan on sewing it to the tarp eventually.

I have this tent and my little ones like to escape out of the open holes on the bottom. It velcroes in certain area to the bottom but not all the way. The girls love it and my hubby and i can both fit in it. The only thing I suggest is to put more velcro around the bottom where your babies can not get out. But still is a great tent for a great price.

Yeah I know a few people's gliders liked to be sneaky and attempt an escape...I think some people duct taped it shut or used fleece all the way around the bottom....but yes, it IS a great tent AND you can watch TV while you're having playtime!

I have a question... is the mesh safe for the suggies to climb on?? I would think their feet would get stuck.. or is putting fleece over it the best answer??

I have that tent and love it, but the one that I have the floor velcros off and there are some spots that a glider can slip through by the poles, so I sewed some extra on to seal them up.
