i have the huge hexagon cage sold by suncoast. i cannot get it outside without taking the top off. the top is so hard to get off. it's a 2 person job to put it back on to line up the screws and holes and such. we've done it because it's so easy to clean the cage that way, but i can't do ti all the time. it is so hard to really get it clean because your arms can only reach so far and the inside of the bars towards the back can get ver ysticky and smelly. any suggestions?

Some people use the steam cleaners...that might work. I tried it once, and it took me longer to clean it that way than to haul the darn things outside and bring them back . Chances are, I was doing it wrong probably .

I use a flat microfibre mop (Vileda)to get to the back three panels of mine. I think it works pretty good on those hard to reach panels at the back. On the parts I can reach I use a regular sponge with the scrubber on one side.

I use a large steam cleaner.. it has multiple attachments.. I start out with one of the small pointy ones at the corners and any really nasty messes- food stuck in large amounts, etc.. then I switch to a larger brush attachment and just make one horiszontal and one vertical pass per side, stopping to scrub if I notice anything particularly nasty- I do 2 30" sq by 5' tall enclosures in about an hour that way...
