I just had a brainstorm, please let me know what you all think. I don`t know if anyone else has come up with this idea but I`d like to share it with everyone as I`ve seen many people (including myself)wondering how to keep suggies warm in the colder seasons. I have a hot water bottle for my suggies in case of a power failure, having to rush to the vets when the car is cold etc. but I was thinking about it when I noticed there are holes in the hot water bottle for hanging it up. This idea may at least work during the daytime while they`re sleeping but what if you were to hang it on the outside of the cage right where their pouch is hanging? And you could keep another pouch farther away from the bottle, say if they get too warm. I know a lot of us are running electric heaters, reptile heating pads etc. to keep them warm, but why not save on electric too? That means, more money to buy them treats with lol. Plus, less risk of fire, I know I get nervous with electric heaters and stuff. The instructions with the bottle say that the bottle should stay warm for 8-10 hours. What do you think? I would think it would be fine during the day while they were sleeping as long as you could monitor it - but I wouldn't leave it unattended & not while they are awake - we all know how sharp their little teeth are & I would hate to have a lil suggie get scalded from biting the hot water bottle. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

That`s a real good point but if the bottle is on the outside of the cage, I don`t think they could do it. They wouldn`t be able to grab ahold of the bottle because of how heavy it is and the material is slippery although, I kinda have my doubts about it staying warm enough for 8-10 hours. I think that by the time they could chew through it, if they could get ahold of it, the water would probably be luke warm by then anyways being that the material is so thick, so all we`d probably have are wet gliders lol. Of course we don`t want that. I got exciting about this idea thinking the bottle would stay warm for that long but unfortunately it doesn`t.
