She probably should have run tests, but vets often diagnose based on symptoms and environmental factors. Her diagnosis does make sense. Given that you are going back in two weeks, I would start on the HPW IMMEDIATELY along with the calcium supplement provided by the vet and watch him closely for negative changes. If need be, take him back sooner...

I agree with Gina, in my experience my vets try not to get blood work unless they have no option because they are so small. If her diagnosis is right the calcium drops should have him back on track in no time. But please do get them on the HPW as soon as possible. There is nothing like the peace of mind that everything they need is in there for them. Good luck with your baby.

thank you all so much for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. i feel so bad for this baby especially since hes had a rough past.
we're gonna make up a batch of HPW tonight. does anyone have any tips on how to encourage them to eat it if they decide they dont want it?

we just picked up some yogurt but i already got him to take his med. hes very good with medicine. he doesnt shake his head afterwards like some do but he doesnt take it easily but he doesnt fight it after i get him to take it either.
just got done making the hpw. letting it freeze then gonna toss the cubes in a zippy and get dinner ready.

thank you. hes got some diarrhea right now and the vet said that his calcium shouldnt be causing that. looks like we may need to go back in on monday or tuesday.
