Would RiceHulls be a safe bedding/floor covering? ive read woodchips are not, i want make sure my new little baby is ok. Reason i ask is i use Ricehulls as my bedding/floor covering in my chicken barns..and have mass amounts i could use.

don't know about RiceHulls...i would think that would be ok, but maybe someone else knows for sure.

Aspen wood shavings ARE safe though! Pine and cedar shavings are NO-NO's b/c they are bad for the respiratory system in these little guys. Some use a scrap of fleece cut to the size of the cage bottom. It can be washed and put back in every few days.

If your cage is the type with a drop tray under a wire floor, you can even use newspaper.

Mine are like that and I don't use any bedding, I just rinse off the trays every morning.

I'm not sure about the rice husks. How much dust is in it? If it has alot of dust, I would not suggest using it.

I have never heard of rice husks as bedding… <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nixweiss.gif" alt="" /> I use pieces of fleece to line the bottom pans, and change it out every day….
