I think it was cirrhosis yes that sounds correct. Talk about MAJOR brain [censored]. This has just been one of those ordeals.

Told her what the vet said and said I don't think this is a good idea. She concurs. I did take off the ecollar to clean off his ring around the collar AKA HPW AROUND THE COLLAR. I gave him some grapes and 3 mealies. He attacked both then groomed his ears. Then he went after the belly and A NICE NEW CLEAN ECOLLAR was his reward. All is good for me (insert evil laugh here) I should feel sorry for Patches but I have to believe I am doing what is best for him. He is now trying to get the ecollar back off but he can't still it is fun to watch (I should be ashamed!)

Oh geez having a laugh at his expense poor guy if he only knew you were laughing at him trying to get out of the ecollar. roflmao

I am doing the same thing right now laughing at my newest rescue trying to get my smell off of him, cause I picked him up and handled him and wormed him even after he bit me good this morning. He is so POed at me. MwaaaaaaHaaHaaHaaaaaaaa. Little does he know that I can take a parrot bitting me, so him bitting and drawing blood is nothing compared to that little Macaw of mine.

If you want to know what a person is like, watch how he treats others.

You'll never know what the outcome is if you don't step up and try.

Cyndie, I am reading through all the necropsys that are listed here on the board trying to find liver issues and I found one from where Ethan (Candi's glider in Canada) died. On the necropsy it stated Liver- Hepatic cirrhosis also severe with lipidosis and I thought of you and patches.

Here is where you can find the necropsy report. I am wondering if you would be able to share it with your vet, and maybe that would trigger some thought or idea or something if it is along the same lines. The only good thing of this is he was able to see Patches liver BEFORE having to do the necropsy.

Cyndie, so sorry you and Patches had to go through all that. I would do the same thing for one of my babies.
We just paid 390 to get the bunny foo spayed and take a lump off her back. Thank goodness it was not cancerous. The foo is my hubbies and he would be heartbroken. Hold and love that little patches!!!
