I have a joey she is about 19wks OOP. She's by herself. I have another female joey OOP Dec. 15th. so she is about 5 weeks OOP. I am not moving her in with the other one till she is around 9 weeks. My question is should I start letting them be around each other like during playtime. I will have to do just the 2 of them because the mom of the little one dislikes the 19 week old she will attack her if given the chance. I have noticed a lot of crabbing in the pouch of mom,dad and baby the last couple days. Are they trying to start wheening the baby away from them? Mom has another joey IP right now. If I do tent time with both little ones and the baby has the other gliders scent on her will this make Mom and dad attack her? Sorry so many ?'s.

No, do not do tent time with them. Mom and Dad could possible kill the young one if she has the scent of the other one on it. I would suggest having another cage ready to go when you are ready to seperate the baby from mom and dad so you can begin intros with the other.

It sounds like Mom may be trying to wean the little one, if she already has another in pouch.
Please be sure to up her protein as she may not be producing enough milk.
Never be sorry for asking questions. Thats the best thing you can do to learn something!

Thank you so much. I will not do intro's. You know my gut told me it would not be a good idea, I need to follow that more. I am so glad I had not tried. I have been switching blankets though. This does not seem to bother mom and dad they will even pull the blanket in the pouch they sleep in. It is really cute to watch them carry a big blankie in their pouch. I have up'd her protein. I will do it a little more. Besides, mealworms what is another good protein source for her? I feed BML with fruits, veggies and mealworms in the mornings about 6 or 7 of them.

Best protein to provide is scrambled eggs. I always mix mine with a little milk before cooking them.
