I plan on going crazy and buying Pookah a ton of new cage sets, toys etc. What are your favorites? What has your gliders played with the most? What do you considre "must haves"? What did you buy that your gliders aren't interested in? What do you consider a waste of money?

There are soooo many things gliders LOVE in their cages...
Barrel of monkeys...mine go crazy over them! I find them all over the cages in the mornings...and Tippy even drags one into his pouch!
Ball pits...same thing with the monkeys...I have to collect all the balls every morning LOL
I just got a swing hammock from Glider Daydreams...and Lethe loves it! There's so many great things on her site!!
Bridges and hammocks, perches, feathers....
And don't forget a good solid safe wheel!

I think foraging toys are an must have. Also a toy bin. You can find any semi heavy (heavy enough for it not to tip over) shallow serving tray for the cage floor and throw lots of chew items mentioned above into it. I always have a hanging toy bin and a floor toy bin in my cages at most times. I find they use both but one of my girls in particular is always in the floor bin. In the bins, I put straws, cut milk rings, fake ivy, plastic jacks, army men, pacies, monkeys etc.

I say ball pits, they are the best! Throw in some mealies, frozen veggie pieces, whatever, and they go nuts digging through everything. Bells OMG my Skittles loves her some bells! She isn't as food-motivated as Oreo, but if she can make it ring ooooo buddy it's a keeper! And you gotsta gotsta have a Cruiser, mine dive-bomb theirs regularly. I even see them climb the PVC to play on the back. My favorite (since it's higher than other wheels) is to watch them jump flat-footed from the floor of the cage to climb into it.

Fantastic suggestions! I currently have a hammock that pookah sleeps in and his stealth wheel. I had two wheels but burried the second one with Goliath. I also have a couple of toys in there but he dosen't seem interested in them. I've never thought of putting in a ball pit or foragers. My poor baby has been seriously missing out. Luckly he gets 2-5 hours to run around the glider room at night before I go to bed. So where do I find ball pits, Custom Cruiser, etc? There are so many toys out there on various sites, what have you guys found to be more appealing to us than to the gliders and would be better to avoid?

ball pits you can use small wiffle balls(in the golf section or sport section of you local big store walmart, mjer, fred mejer) and plastic easter eggs and find a glider safe container to put them in! You can put straws through the wiffle balls and treats in the Easter eggs!
Costom cruiser you would have to get a hold of Bourbon.
I have found you should stay away from anything that chips, soft wood, soft plastic, and things that are around and small that their little bodies can get stuck in.

I'll add a couple "must-have's" at the request of Karma (my newest little girl) Eucalyptus branches: I cannot believe how MUCH she enjoys shredding the bark off the one in her reptarium right now! Straws through the practice golf balls: She's on her 3rd set of straws in a month! I'll find them MANGLED and needing replacement. Milk rings (with 1 cut so they're not a complete circle): I hang them on an "atomic pig" in her cage before night, and the next morning they're EVERYWHERE! She gets a great degree of enjoyment from pulling them off & dragging them around. A salad bowl full of fuzzy pom-poms: The best $2.00 I ever spent at the Dollar Tree...I find them ALL OVER her reptarium too. Egg-o-Bunnies or Monkies in a Barrell or Canimals: These are all the same basic concept, just different shapes...they hang from the atomic pig too & are EVERYWHERE the next morning. White feathers (my personal preference there's no dyes): MANGLED in 2 days! Yes, Karma is a little chewer.....but she hasn't chewed AT ALL on her reptarium cover because she has so much else to play with! Momma is keeping a CLOSE EYE on this, you bet your socks!!!

I've found that gliders are happier with the toys we make them than store bought (just like human kids like the box the toys came in better! lol) toys I've bought from pet stores go unnoticed while the bells, straws, straws with yogurt and or mealies, dangly noisy things are what they love best. They also LOVE to jump and play with US instead of jumping around their cages. Oh, and their hanging bunnies and monkeys! Jingle balls are a favorite too and Weeble houses! Have you ever watched a glider be determined to keep a Weeble down? LOL

I bought a Barrel of Monkeys today and some ping pong balls to put in a flat container to hide mealies in. I also bought a bin to use as a toy bin and some other odds and ends to make stuff with. After I get the new cage (hopefully next pay day) I plan to buy some of the other neato toys other members make. So where do I find the custom cruiser everyone talks about?

I was wondering if you can use ping pong balls are they safe???? I buy the plastic golf balls!!! Just am unsure??
...ping pong balls are made of oxygen-filled celluloid.
Celluloid is a thermoplastic. Thermoplastic occurs when polymer plastics are heated until they turn liquid, and then harden into a glossy plastic when cooled at freezing temperatures.

The "atomic pig" was a baby toy available at Dollar Tree years ago...they also had the "atomic duck" and some other "atomic" animal. I don't believe they carry them anymore, at least I haven't seen them in awhile. I'll try to capture a picture later on...
And the straws are just plain ol' drinking straws that you get in a package of 100 for a little over a dollar. Some are skinny in diameter & can squeeze through the practice golf balls, some have to be "folded" into putting through.

I ordered the Sturdy Cage from suncoast yesterday, should arrive on the 16th. I also ordered a Cruiser, so Pookah will have both the cruiser and the stealth in his cage. I've got the barrel of monkeys and the baby C rings to hang toys from. Almost there... Where do I get the balls for the ball pit exactly, are they smaller than ping pong balls?? Can someone link a couple of their favorite cage sets and foragers? If you don't want to do it public please send me a PM. I am looking for tried and true ideas.

You can get the balls at walmart in the golf section. They are wiffle balls- you get about 15 for less than $2. Many people on here have sites in there signatures where they sell toys etc that they make for sugar gliders so you can look there.
