Some gliders do enjoy the occasional live treat while others do not, just as some still have that "love of the hunt" in them while others just do not seem interested rofl

When you are feeding live rodents like mice, just be sure they are not from the wild as those may carry diseases. Crickets the same should be raised safely.

BTW, I never knew that hedgehogs liked mice. That was a surprise to me.

Although we like to think of them as domesticated, they are really not. They have learned to live with humans, but they are still very much wild animals in many respects. Just like (a majority of) cats and dogs still have their natural hunting instincts toward small animals, so do gliders.

If you want to see them really hunt, find/make a mesh enclosure that has mesh small enough to keep crickets from escaping and dump them in with your glider...it is really fascinating, especially if there are pouches and toys so the crickets can 'hide' from the glider.

I have never fed pinkies to my glider, but do know many people have/do feed them on a semi-regular basis. They are a good source of protein and calcium. You may need to start buying extra for your glider! rofl

How close together are/were they when this happened? Just curious.
