Alma here. have had sugar gliders for 3 weeks now. nervous I will fail. glad I found this place. great information available here. I have four girls, Congo cage, a few toys and a tube bed?.. Still learning what they need and will use. I make the BML diet and do fresh and frozen fruits and veggies plus Glider complete. and usually either applesauce or yogurt aprox. 1 tsp. nightly. I am retired so have time to spend with them. hoping they get friendlier at some point.. I make a lot of necessities like the tube bed and my bonding pouch to save money. so far seem to work well for me.

:welcomegc: So glad you are here.

Here is the link to the updated BML recipe. Please note the list of veggies and fruits to be fed is very restricted.

Also please do NOT add the glider complete as it will definitely throw off the balance of the BML diet as it is intended to be fed.

Your post definitely seems like you are doing all the right things and will be a very good glider mom. Look forward to hearing much more from you and how things are going.

Hi! :welcome: to GC!!!

Is the glider complete from exotic nutrition?

Karen is right, the BML diet is pretty strict. Treats are fine for bonding.

I'm curious about the tube bed... I've never heard of this, just curious...

You've made a bonding pouch(which is great!), I you can sew which will save you tons of $$$ .

Making toys for enrichment is pretty easy too if you're crafty.

Do you have a glider safe wheel? They love to run and jump on them.

I have the Silent Runner wheel with sandy track. have only seen one use it so far.. not sure if I can add photo. not sure how to do that here. please advise if you know how. for the tube bed? not sure that's what it's called but that's what they use it for. also a bed I made out of a dvd can that can be hung either vertical or horizontal and can use the lid with hole or open face/no hole. I will remove the pellet food. That revised BML formula is the one I use with the exception I could not find the Gerber mixed fruit juice so I used the Gerber strawberry & Kiwi fruit juice. Thanks.

The best way to know if they are using the silent runner is to check for potty/poo inside. Depending on how frequently they run on it, it may need to be cleaned daily, or weekly at least.
