Hello! I'm watching my brother's sugar gliders while he's away and they're usually really good about eating. I put some apples on top of their food and they ate those but they didn't eat much of their actual food. I'm really worried about them and my brother isnt responding to me on what to do. They seem to have eaten a little bit of kibble last night from their bowl and treasure chests. I dont know if they're not eating because its him not in the room or because there isn't someone sleeping in there with them. If anyone could give me any help at all please do.

Hello!

So what is their diet? Is it just kibble?

I would also put them in a quiet area of your home. They prefer a dark room at night with a nightlight(helps keep them from barking).

Make sure they have a reliable water source with feeding kibble. Check water bottles by taping the end to make sure they aren't stuck. A small amount of water should drip out. A small shallow bowl of water (changed daily)near the kibble will help too.

Depending on the kibble, you can soften it with a little warm water. It will need to be changed daily.

They can have apples that are cored, cantalope, cucumbers, or what ever your brother recommends.
Gliders may go a day or so without eating if they are vert stressed.

They're on the TPG diet with some extra kibble in there as an alternative and they are in my brothers room in the basement!! (its very dark in there and they have a light that is turned on when they wake up that is very dim) and they do have a little water bowl in there!!

Oh, so they didn't leave their home.

Maybe they are particular about when they're fed. A change in feeding schedule could stress them as well. It would depend on what time of day you set out their food.

I feed mine at 6pm. They get up, snack and go back to bed till around 10pm. If I have to leave before it's time to feed them I will put dishes in the cage frozen so it stays more fresh by their feeding time.

I don't know if any of that helps, but if they are hungry, they will eat. :hdance:
