How would you go about waking them up? Do you just walk up to their cage and be like "YO GLIDERS get uppp" or shake their pouch really gently or what? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Thanks <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dance.gif" alt="" />

I just stick my hand in the pouch and scoop them out and talk to them. Slowly of course.

Mine will wake up if I talk to them, and of course bring food, they also have a green night light that they really like. I just go up to the cage and start babbling and they come out to see what I've brought them to eat, sometimes they will not come out if their green light isn't on.

I am so bad. I let my gliders sleep till they want to wake up. Most of the time that is up to 1:30a.m. or later. I really do hate waiting. I even get their food ready about 11 p.m. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I take the pouch out of the cage, talk to her softly and gently pet her from outside the pouch. This usually wakes her and she'll come out.

Mine respond really well to tickeling with a small piece of felt. They cannot resist the urge to play with it. They also will wake up for mealies or other foods. I can also just grab them if I am careful not to do it in a threatening manner but none of these really work for keeping them up. As soon as they get sick of playing they go right back to sleep. If you are looking to change their habits I would cut any light/sound earlier and slowly wake them with their food earlier and earlier. Most likely they won't change in a very short period of time. Mine used to wake up at 9:30-10p but now don't like being up before 11. Me and my gf are usually up late and they are in the family room so the light and tv are usually on until that time.

For me, the best way to wake them up is by turning their pouch inside out (very gently) and pushing them out. I found that they'll sleep until 1 or 2am if I don't do this every night!

Pickles is very pouch protective and will crab if I put my hand (or anything else) in their pouch while they're sleeping. I'm not sure if she'll ever get over this...she's my crabby lil girl, lol. She's much better than when I first got her though (she used to crab at EVERYTHING).
