just wanted to ask who had the first mosaic glider ?? when did the first mosaic glider born...is there such thing as a mosaic het.

I don't know about the first mosaic, but I'd like to! There are a few "famous" mosaics - but I don't know where the line started.

I do know there are no mosaic hets. Either they *are* mosaic, or they aren't.

However, there have been instances of very subtle mosaics. They posses the mosaic gene, and display it, but in very subtle ways. So, they might look like a gray - but have one pink foot, or something like that. If you weren't looking for it, you wouldn't think it was a mosaic glider.

Mac (Mac and Cheese) and Snow White were two of the first mosaics. They are healthy producing lines. They were both wild caught. Helen Morano also had a few, which she severly inbred. That is the line we are working on outbreeding to get rid of the sterility. Priscilla has most of them now. Some of the first ones she had were Tilly and her sister (forget her name).

Mosaics are a dominant gene like white faces. There are no hets. Gliders who carry the gene have to display the gene. Some are very subtle.

Oh, what a pretty boy! Priscilla has great gliders. I have a batch of her babies, including a mosaic ringtail male I got through someone else and a little mosaic girl born to a female from Priscilla.
