Not me. But I'd guess it would be kind of funny to watch! Sorry if this is something someone is genuinly worried about.

Yes!!! Years ago, with my first Glider, Mya..... she was rescued from a woman that was ignorant about Glider husbandry and nutrition. Mya was in a very bad place. Well, after studying Gliders for quite some time, I felt pretty good about caring for her. Thought Id be prepared to handle most things. One afternoon shortly after bringing her home, I gave her her first meal worms, and after her only getting to eat dry oatmeal, catfood, and apples her entire life, needless to say she gobbled them up so fast I thought she would choke. After eating about 4-5 of them, she started kind of twitching/jerking in a rythmic kind of way. Her little head would bounce up and down every few seconds. I watched her closely, she didnt seem to be in distress or anything, but it lasted for a few minutes... I panicked and thought she was having some sort of seizure or something. I ran to the vet down the street crying, only for the vet to tell my she had the hiccups. After that, for several weeks, anytime Id give her meal worms, shed eat them super fast as if she was hoarding them and shed get the hiccups. Only other Glider Ive had do this is Buddy, hes my piggy and loves any kind of food, occassionally if its something he really loves, he'll eat and squeek and hiccup at the kinda same time.

Your telling me! Im sure the vet got quite a kick out of it. Here I am standing there crying, and watching him look at her, while steadily asking through sobs, if she was "going to make it". The vet looks at me seriously and says, something to the effect of "I see the problem", and Im thinking "Oh Lord NO! Its serious!"... then hear the vet say "She has the hiccups." Yeah, I felt pretty embarrassed... then I cried somemore cause I was so happy she WAS 'going to make it'.

Riker gets the hiccups from time to time, too! It took me a while to figure out what was going on, tho! It can be scary the first time!

Ollie got the hiccups once a little while ago. I freaked out because he's been sick. I thought something else terrible was happening to him. I called up my vet in a panic and she just laughed and told me it was hiccups. I guess other concerned glider moms and dads have called in with similar concerns. I wish this post was made a couple of weeks ago so I could have saved myself the embarrising phone call.

I hadn't seen this thread and I wish I had all the time in the world to read all these threads, but last night, my little girl, Meli, got the hiccups. I totally freaked out. I was holding her just watching. It was like I was paralyzed or something - total shock. After going through things in my head, I said to myself, they have to be hiccups, they better be hiccups. She stopped and everything was well again. Very scary. I had to do a search to make sure I wasn't alone in my world. What a sigh of relief to read this.
