My significant other is an animal control officer for the local police deptartment. And when she told her superior officer today about our gliders, the superior's response was, "I hope you know those are exotic animals and may not be legal in the city limits..." and other junk that relly got my dander up! Tellin her basically that if we were keepig exotics illegally that she wasn't doing her job since part of her job is to write tickets to people who keep illegal animals. My problem is, after HOURS of searching, I cannot find out any info except that they are LEGAL in the state of Texas. Basically the superior officer was wanting to see proof that they are legal in our area. But isn't it HER job to know that??? I mean, my other half has only been on the job a few months. Anyone know of a site that will tell me more info than that they are legal in Texas in general???

All I could find was "General Exotics are not allowed in many cities."

Why don't you or your partner call the fish & wildlife office to see if they are legal.

I didn't see marsupials or gliders listed as prohibited animals in the anmal section, but I didnt' read through the entire site. You really need to call and speak to a supervisor.. here locally even when marsupails are listed, when I call I am told that most places consider them to be Pocket Pets. There have been a few places where they are not allowed and even one near me where you have to have a permit. So far I don't have any informaton on Bryan Texas, so if you do call would you please post it so I can note it.
Hope it help some,
Thanks!
