I'm a little unsure & wanted to know other's opinions. Would you classify these safe to use in making glider toys while still strung? I have a ton of these from Mardi Gras and have been thinking up toy designs. This one pictured is double the size of a pea. I have some pea size & even smaller (but would never use smaller than a pea). I know pony beads are widely used & these are larger than those- but wanted to be sure <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yelclap.gif" alt="" />
So whatcha think- this one pictured ok? What about pea size?

The only thing I can think of is if the metalic paint is toxic. Try scratch at a bead and see if they are painted or not. Hopefully somebody will be along soon who might know about them.

I understand that the metalic is toxic and should be avoided. Be careful with things like that. Even though they are plastic, they could still be toxic. The plastic "wind twisters" found at dollar stores seem harmless enough but infact proved to be made of a toxic plastic and almost cost a glider his life.

I use those beads in my cages all the time! I guess I better go get them al lout!!! It didnt even occur to me that they would be bad for my babies. They have had in their cage for about 8 months now without a problem but then again you never can be too careful!! Thnks for the heads up
