I love the idea of the fleece covered shelves on the walls! Very cute.
I'll have to get pics of our "updated" playroom. We (and by "we" I mean my husband) added grapevine in the room. I love to try to make it as natural as possible, but let me tell you they tear this stuff up! If you have carpet, you do not want to use this.
All the grapevines came out of the woods where there were no chemicals used. The gliders run all over them like crazy and literally shred the stuff! I think its as close to nature as I'll ever get them.
Bad thing is it goes almost to the ceiling and is extremely difficult when I say playtime is over. They just run up high, sit there laughing at me saying "You think so, do ya? Come & get me then!"

ill be sure to make it extra nasally just for you and twelve more dayyyysssss how much were they at home depot? momo, for some reason, loves being on the floor *shrug*
Brian picked them up for me but I think they were like $16 or $17 for a four pack (they're 2 ft squares). Just a thought for you on the floor...go to Goodwill or a consignment store...get some baby toys...things Momo can play in when he's on the floor! I still need to get some things...I just haven't found what I want yet.
Another thought, Erika...you could hang some extra long fleece vines so that they hang just a short distance from the floor...might make them excited to grab on and climb up so they aren't always down below.
aimee, im one step ahead of you - already got some set aside! they're from when i had a huuugggeee cage. ill add some pics when the ones i take arent 500kb
Personally, I don't recommend allowing gliders to climb on other gliders cages. I had one instance when one of my gliders got out (chewed through his rept) and was fighting another glider through the cage wire. He did receive a minor injury, took him to the vet and he was put on antibiotics. It could have been much worse.
Gliders can crawl under the cage cover, so I'm not sure how much protection that will provide.
Keep in mind, this situation was accidental and unsupervised. However, anything can happen in a moments time, even when supervised. Just be extremely careful.

i have a nosey question...i have seen a couple people that have the same thing in their glider playroom and i am oh so jealous hehe.. ohhhh i want one. where are you guys getting that long mesh'y looking thing that erika has hanging from the ceiling infroint of the window?? what is that?
What about making a divider out of hardware cloth and separating them that way? Section off the room? Then you could have a section for cages, and then a section for a play area.
