My little guy has been off antibiotics for nearly 2 months now while I've been trying to get a sample to have cultured (I guess it's a good thing that there hasn't been one to get). He's still been on prednisone as needed for any inflamation tho. Anyway, I was giving him his dose and noticed that it looked like he had some food stuck on his top molars. So I break out the oral rinse and q-tips and start brushing much to Brodie's disgust. I get to his upper right molar and it wiggles big time....ut oh..... it looks like the abscess may have damaged the root of his tooth, because it was the tooth right under where his nasal abscess was located. So off to the vets we go. Dr Kaiser looked around in his mouth and said...."The upper right molar....there's nothing there" HUH?!? It was there before I left I saw it. Dr Kaiser looked again, "maybe it was with the food that just came out" Sure enough, it wasn't food bits that came out of his mouth, it was his TOOTH! I knew it was loose, but I truely thought it would take a bit more effort to get it out. So basically I spend $50.00 to have Brodie open his mouth and spit his tooth at the vet. Oh well at least it's out and it's better I guess that he didn't need sedated and operated on to remove it.

Brodie, you poor little man. You got lucky this time. I hope that is the end of his infection problems.

Kiss the little guy for me.

Oh Brodie! Did you think the tooth fairy was going to reward you for that tooth? You know, you could have lost it at home and saved mom some money. I bet it was fun to spit it out at the vet tho, huh?

I'm so glad everything was ok, other than the tooth loss. No infection! Yeah! Maybe he won't have any more problems at all!

Give him a snuggle for me!

Brodie is doing AWSOME. I think he was so ready to rid himself of that tooth. He just had to find the perfect time to accomplish the task. He is enjoying his meds....as much as one can enjoy medicine. At least he doesn't try to spit it at me. Plus he is bright eyed, bushy tailed and HUNGRY. There has been no swelling, in fact the minor swelling that he did have is now gone, as are 90% of his sniffles.

Wonderful news! I know that trip couldn't have been fun for him, but it sounds like he's taking it like a trooper.

Maybe that tooth was the start of his problems all along.

Glad to hear he is doing great.
