Alright guys, I need your help. Tinkerbell needs a new pouch and shes rejecting the one i made myself for her, id say she could use bonding and a sleeper. I'm also wondering about wheels, she just uses a plastic large rat wheel right now, and its really noisy and doesnt trim her nails.. So i was wondering if any of yall knew where i could find some high quality pouches and a great wheel. Oh and one more thing, She loves to jump from the top of her cage to the bottom, and I live in a fraternity house, so my room is pretty small, so it keeps me up all night all this banging and such, so i was wondering if any of you had any suggestions regarding to that, thanks a lot guys!

What kind of cage do you have? Zip ties in the right places help cage rattling...fleece helps dampen the noise and a wodent or stealth wheel is quieter especially when attached to the cage by zip tye or u-bolt. Fleece toys and fleece ropes are also quieter and easy to make. You could also cover the cage at night after bed to help dampen the noise a bit - just be sure to uncover in the morning. My sister in law is in the same situation and has no problems anymore.

Be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.

well first it sounds like she's active and happy! so that's good <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

does she have blankies in her pouch with her?
just put little pieces of fleece in her pouch for blankies if she doesn't have any.

then when you give her a new pouch, put her blankies in the new pouch so that her scent will be in there as well.

i just put a new pouch in Cloey's cage the other night and she seems quite happy with it. i put her blankies in there as well and i think that's what made her feel like it was still her space and her home and such.

there are alot of great sites with ideas on how to make your own pouches or you can order them from sites too..

Hey Ooya! There are several great vendors on GC that make cool products including pouches, etc. I sell them on my site, and we also sell (although it's not pictured yet) a hammock that fits most of the bottom of the cage. It's intended to catch joeys that might fall from their pouch, but it would probably alleviate the sound issue as well as, zip tying the cage in spots to stop rattling. We can customize the cage hammock to your specific cage as well. Check out some of our stuff!

Ooya, it sounds like you have the pouch issue pretty well covered above, so I'll say a LOT of good words for a wheel I found that's SO QUIET! It's called a "Silent Spinner" and it comes in a VERY LARGE size to accommodate an energetic suggie. I find them at large-box pet stores such as PetsMart or Petco. (ask them to special order it for you if they don't have the 12" size) For trimming toenails, you can duct tape a piece of fine sandpaper in the wheel & leave it in there for 2-3 days (NO LONGER than that, though).

To address the top-to-bottom jumping thing, how about putting in a BRAIDED nylon rope (about 1" diameter) to go from top of cage to bottom? I bought a 4' section from Lowe's (or Home Depot also carries it) for less than $2.00 that hangs from top to bottom & it's lasted for nearly 2 years! The key issue is to have both ends "melted" so they won't unravel. My suggies love to travel up & down the rope, and their toenails DON'T get caught!

Good luck!

There is a cage set on ebay with a tinkerbell pattern. I don't have the link, I saw it this morning so I don't know if it's still there. That would be cute with her name and all.

haha i agree, thanks guys! One problem im having with finding cage sets, is that all the colors i have found are well... pretty girly. If im going to be walking around with a pouch, pink polka dots isnt going to work =/ and as far as the sand paper in her wheel goes, do i just use wone suare or cover the entire inside?

I cover the entire wheel. About the bonding pouch, maybe you could just order a bonding pouch that's one neutral bold color.

I think Queenduck has some manly pouch designs and prints. She's really busy right now though, but she may have something premade you can buy. Her store is called sweet and sour gliders (I think...it's sweet and sour something.). She makes pouches made out of Crown Royal bags for instance.
